LIT- A decent college which will change your life

I have admitted to the college in year 2019 , through tfws quota. As, the normal fees for general is also quite low , that is just 28000 inr. I have got the college with just the fees of 15000. The admission happens through mhcet exam for Maharashtra domiciled student and for the other than Maharashtra students can apply through JEE exam. The J and K candidates are alloted on the basis of their 12th percentage. There's no criteria of age. The minimum marks for general candidate is 130. Also the best thing is that the other state students cutoff goes quite low in JEE exam.

I have opted for chemical engg, because of its wide range of applications in various fields. We are everywhere. And also whatever we have studied in 12th class is best applied in this field. Faculty- They are quite hardworking. They teach us with great enthusiasm and the best thing is that they complete the syllabus effectively. I don't know the exact ratio but for every sem, we have 5 teachers for 84 students. Exams were conducted offline before corona but now it is online and we give exam MCQ type.

In the final year, the training and placement cell department of LIT provides Summer Internship to the student which is quite helpful in placements. The internship will be either giving a stipend or without stipend too but yes experience is always there. For the project, there is a minor project in the 3rd year and a major project in the final year.

Highest package in 2020- Vedanta -8. 5 lakhs. Average package - 4-5lakhs. Almost 100% of students are placed in chemical engineering. Exception if someone decided to go for higher studies, etc. Companies like Galaxy, Godrej Galaxy surfactants, Aarti Industries, Thermax Wilmar. My plan is to take the placement and further look for other opportunities too.

The fees are quite low. General-28000, OBC-24000, Sc and Sts - 8000, Tfws -15000, Oms- 40000- other states. Scholarships are available as per the govt schemes, as it is the premier govt Institute and it comes under RTMNU, Nagpur University.

The library is available which provides enough amount of book to read and also so some amount to take at home for the duration of 15 days and there is also a policy of renewable which is done in 15 days. College campus square green surrounded by road and a large number of trees. If if I talk about events then LIT is not very well known for it but yes there are few events that are well known like react, Ganesh festival and gathering of lit.
