Remarks

After completion of my 12th, I registered for DU. First I had applied to Bhagini Nivedita college but the faculty and infrastructure didn't match the mark. Because the cutoff was as low as 76% in the first round. Then, I had applied for B. A Hons. Social work in Aditi Mahavidyalay. The admission procedure was simple. The cutoff lists were out and admission was given on a merit basis. As I was a medical student and (general category,) so there was a deduction of 1% but it didn't matter. The minimum cutoff for Gen last year was 78%. And minimum age 18 years. After I applied, the application was under review then accepted by the principal ma'am. I paid the fees. And got into one of the best social work colleges of not only DU but India.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Exams are conducted as per DU guidelines. As everything has been online so I would say it was easy. But the overall difficulty of questions is always moderate to high. Usually, the exams are easy to pass but to score high is another challenge.

Internships Opportunities

4

Not internships but fieldwork. We work as trainees there and definitely come out as experienced and confident people. The fieldwork allows us to feel what it will be like to work in this area. It's not like other courses it comes under professional courses so I think this is the best thing. That we get to practice hand in hand.

Placement Experience

4

It is just a bachelor's course but still during the program we have field trips every two days of the week in various hospitals, NGOs, Delhi police crime branches, and mental wards. So we develop a reputation there. And some companies have direct contact with the college mostly govt jobs. Do it's good. The salary starts from 3 LPA to anything. Although my plans are to get a master's degree in psychiatric health.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the students are given scholarships on a merit basis and financial assistance too. It was done in the very first month of our admission to college. Although the fees are very low still some girls avail as per convenience.

Campus Life

4.5

We have a lot of fests. There is Diwali Mela, campus drive, and many more which I haven't been a part of yet. The library is free for everyone. A card is issued for students in the same month of starting of classes and we can avail books and journals and even magazine. There is an above-average canteen too. And about classes, the college is under development. There is always something new happening here. New infrastructure and facilities. A beautiful garden is there to sit and study. All the sports like badminton, hockey, boxing, etc are available. Many of my classmates have participated. NCC is also available and I am enrolled in it We have an Ekta club for social work students. It is run by students.

I feel like the curriculum is a little out dated and boring but due to a good faculty it makes the course more worthwhile The curriculum is very text based and less practical and more emphasis on bookish knowledge persists still .

As per I've heard, placements here are decent. I can't say for sure because I'm new here. About my plans, I am doing CFA side by side because I don't believe that a bachleors degree has any valur of it's own, one needs to pair it with something else.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As a person who wants to build a strong foundation in both economics and mathematics, B.A.(Hons.) Economics was my first choice. This course not only provide valuable insights into how real world economics work, but it also has great career prospects. Students studying economics major actively take consulting, research, risk management as popular career choices. Since this is a practical course with a broad focus on mathematics, the difficulty level is from moderate to high.

I would say the placement opportunities are more available for science , commerce background students in the college there are rarely any placement opportunities for humanities background students . Mostly students starts engaging in placement in the fifth semester .severky companies visited campus every year including Deloitte , EY.TCS etc . Around 40 - 50 percent students from professional courses get the placement annually .even for the students not opting for placement the exposure n the strong alumni network of college help them secure good opportunities outside campus

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum for my course, economics hons. , I would say is very relevant to our day to day life. The curriculum set by the university doesn't focus only on indian economics but economies through out the world. The suggested books are also the top books used in many international top universities. The curriculum provides us with a lot of real world applications through various case studies. For exams the delhi university guidlines are followed and I would say now the exams are based on more of practical usage and how materials taught in class are applied in real life.
