Remarks
Eligibility criteria for the course were to have a bachelor's degree in Biotechnology or any related subjects of Life sciences. The application was through the website of Brainware University. The admission process was easy and the staff was very helpful. Due to the pandemic, everything was done offline and I didn't have to go to the university itself.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course since I like the subject of Biotechnology and wish to pursue a career in it. The exams were on time and the syllabus was from my course in BSc. The questions were average, passable with some preparation and general knowledge in my field. The curriculum is vast and covers many topics related to the subject. The Faculty to student ratio is around 7:18 for my batch. The faculty themselves are very good and have good qualifications with most of them having their PHDs and some others in the process of getting their Ph.D. The teaching is thorough and topics are explained in detail.
Placement Experience
Students in my course are eligible for campus placements in the fourth semester. The visiting companies include Reliance Industries Limited, TATA Consultancy Services, Wipro, Nature Technologies, and Cognizant. The highest package offered was Rs 12 lakhs per annum. 97% of the students got placed in the last academic session. My plan is to join the biotechnology industry or failing that continue with academic research.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are reasonable and affordable for the average middle-class family. The cost to study is around 1.64 lakhs as expected since this is a Master's course. The university also waived part of my fees based on my past marks in BSc, class 12, and class 10. Since I have not completed my course yet, I have yet to receive a placement.
Campus Life
There are a lot of clubs doing many activities such as photography, music, drama, and sports. The university holds many cultural programs in which these clubs participate. If anyone is interested in anything they can join up with ease. The library has a good stock of books, both hardcover and in digital format, and is freely accessible to the students and faculty. The Classrooms are equipped with smart classes and spacious,
