Entrance Preview

HSC, I scored 82% and Jai hind is of the top colleges in Mumbai so I chose to do my graduation from here.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum was quite interesting with subjects related to the financial markets for e.g. Derivatives, mutual funds, portfolio management, forex, etc. It will definitely interest those who have a inclination towards the stock market and also who plan to learn about investing money in different alternatives.

Internships Opportunities

Internship is not provided by the college we have to find on our own but yes final placements are surely provided. Also internship is not compulsory in this course.

Placement Experience

4.5

I would say as I very reputed companies visit the campus the likes of EnY, Crisil, KPMG, etc. The average pay package after graduation would be around 4 Lakhs per annum. Almost all students get placed as the college contacts and reputation is very good with their corporate base.

College Events

5

We had a couple of events going around in the college one of them being Entourage which is a inter college management event which is totally organised by the students of BAF, BBI and BFM. It is the best part of the course wherein you get to learn a lot in various aspects of management a particular event.

Fee Structure And Facilities

No, the fees were very much reasonable i.e. 20 k per year which is quite cheap and the quality of teaching and facilities that were provided were way above that totally worth it. I completed my graduation in 60 thousand rupees which is very cheap and the college gives out much more then the fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Not sure about such loans as they fees were quite reasonable I doubt anyone would be opting for loans. But I'm sure that banks would be providing loans for it also the college conducts scholarships tests and contest wherein if selected fees are beared by the college.

Campus Life

5

Campus life in Jai hind is the best in Mumbai as there are many alternatives of recreational activities that can be done by students there is a sports room which has all the indoor games that are must also the college has sports teams for different sports. Debates go on around the year on a monthly basis as there are many events that are going on.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There is no hostel facility provided by the college and if there's I'm not aware of it. There are 2 amazing canteens in the college where many varieties of dishes are available that too at a very cheap cost. The quality of food is very good one can't get better at this rate also so much variety.

Alumni/Alumna

The college has a very strong alumni base many film stars are from Jai hind college and they visit quite often for college fests. Also with placements point of view the college has an amazing alumni base as each year the number of companies coming to campus increases.

Exam Structure

The exam structure was very much chilled out we used to study 10 days before the exam still score above average marks i.e 70% throughout. We have six semesters each year would have two semesters and we hardly felt any pressure nor the syllabus was hectic.

Admission

On HSC percentage merit basis, for Graduation courses. I had applied online for the course from the government website as it is a aided college and then the cutoff list was out and I was on it. Once you are there in the cutoff list you just have to visit to pay the fees and secure your admission seat.

Faculty

4

The college faculty is amazing it is very student friendly, being in lectures is fun and if you attend the lectures you also don't need to take any help from other classes to prepare for your exams the faculty teaches well enough and also there are visiting faculties who share their industry knowledge.

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The B.com is not a very comprehensive and complex degree to complete for someone who wants to pursue his/her career in finance. It can be referred as an initial start or push start for one's finance journey over the years. Also the relevance of B.com in real world is gradually decreasing day by day.

Placement Experience:

From semester 5, you become eligible for final placement and semester 3 for internship placement. many companies like Nykaa, Myntra, Duetsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, Zomato, Beerbiceps and more have visited. the highest package in history is 38 lakh per annum. The average is 8-9 lakh per annum. Around 70% of students get the college placement. My plan is to start my own business after college. I am although doing internships through college. Already done one in Beerbiceps and one in chorus call.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
