All about your dream school

I applied for FMS Delhi, SPJIMR, IMT, IMI, DFS, DSE and obviously the IIM through CAT. I was not shortlisted for FMS. from all the other colleges I got the call from ( except BLACI )and was interviewed in all the other colleges. I was not able to convert IIM K for SPJIMR I went to the second round. I then got rejected, and Shillong could not convert, and when I finally landed up in IIM Trichy, one of the best B-school among new IIMs. I am from the general category, so I did not avail any quota. And the shortlisting criteria was a minimum of 80 percentile in each section and 95 percentile overall. The admission process for CAP interviews was common. It was one interview for 9 IIMs, some new and some baby IIMs. There was only one round that was an online PI.

I Chose PGPM General management as there is one PGPM HR course other than this, but I did not want to limit myself to any particular domain in the starting being a fresher so I choose general management. as there is a huge scope in the second year you can choose electives and till then you will have ample amount to information about each domain. there is a decent ratio of facility and teachers 8-9 as there are 32 faculty members. the facility here is highly qualified from the institutes like Harvard business school. other than that we have a trimester system so, exams happen on monthly basis in one term 2 times, first mid terms then end terms.

the prominent recruiters come to campus and a few of them are Airtel, JPMC, Avendus and KPMG for summer placements offering a variety of roles like wealthy management, marketing and consulting to name a few.

The placements start in the 5th semester, with a lot of good companies like Deloitte, JPMC, Godrej, Bain and co., ABG and Tafe etc with a total of more than 120, coming to campus for placements offering and the highest package of 30 lakhs and average and media between 14-15 lakhs offering roles in various domains like finance, consulting, sales and marketing, operation, analytics for PGPM and HR roles forvPGPM-HR. More than 90-95 % of the batch gets placed easily and in the worst-case scenario if a person does not get the job then a lot more opportunities can be easily explored like the startups becue of the immense knowledge gained this is easy to start something by the own.

The ROI is decent and also managing fees is not that tough as our college is in top category colleges for availing loan if required. so the cost to study is not that high as compared to the cost of B schools. the total fees are 18 lakhs including hostel fees where 120000 is hostel mess charge for 6 semesters (20000 each semester), 30000 caution deposit and rest all is tuition fees. there are various scholarships offered for all candidates, then different scholarships for differently-abled people and also for SC candidates. the average stipend for summers is decent and for finals, it is a 14-15 lakhs package.

There are various fests and events by various clubs and committees to name a few there is MACVERSE by marketing club, DHRUVA the cultural event and the celebrations of the festival. if we move towards academics there is a library which has a diverse variety of books apart from that the weekly magazines are also circulated. other than the facilities the classrooms and the overall infrastructure is great. There are fully air-conditioned classrooms and hostel rooms (single occupancy) apart from that there is also a different sports club taking care of the physical activities and a club EXLIR that Is a kind of social welfare group.

The hostels are single occupancy as per the rigour demand of MBA; there are air conditioners in all the rooms. And washrooms facility, which is on average shared by 3 persons per washroom. Now the important part is the food the menu Is quite diverse including a varied ty of food of different states also the fruits, milk, tea and snacks are provided separately. The registration process is also not difficult . It includes some basic details and undertakings like anti-ragging to be submitted.
