Remarks
I had applied for BIT, Mesra, Ranchi, Delhi University, and MS University Vadodara. Minimum marks for IMSc chemistry were 65% in class 12. I did not avail any quota, the admission process was a bit lengthy.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose IMSc chemistry because I wanted to pursue chemistry, faculty: student ratio is 25:14, Qualifications of Faculty- All have done Ph.D. from renowned universities. Term exams are taken timely, no delay in examinations, the levels of the questions are from moderate to difficult, so it's necessary to have all concepts clear.
Internships Opportunities
We have to apply for the internships on our own as a very less number of internships comes for IMSc chemistry, it's good to do the research projects under the guidance of any professor because professors are very helpful.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible For placements from 8th sem onwards in IMSc. Companies visited are Dr. Reddy's Lab and many more pharma companies. The lowest package starts from 6-7 LPA. The percentage of students getting placed is 40-50%.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since BIT, Mesra is a private Institute so its fees are not low, for engineering its fees are high, and for IMSc its fees are moderate. BIT GP Birla Scholarship is being provided by the Institute every semester.
Campus Life
There are tech and cultural fests held every year such as Pantheon, Bitotsav, and Deepotsav. Bitotsav is conducted in February. Different books of renowned authors are available in the library. There are various social groups and Clubs in BIT such as EDC, dance club, Dhwani club, Fine Arts Society, Leo club, etc.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is nice, timely meal and safety are there too. Meal quality is not too bad and not too good, but the room size is too small to accommodate 2 students in a single room. Boys are being allotted single room after 2nd year, but no such rule for girls.
