Remarks

I applied for 5-6 colleges under Calcutta University but I did not admit in those college because the department of mathematics on those college are not so good. If one student want to admit in RKMVCC, then he should get 60%marks in higher secondary for attending the admission test. In admission test is of 50 marks. And the question is based on 10+2 syllabus. After 1 or 2 weeks of the exam, the college publish a merit list based on the admission test result and higher secondary result. Then top 100-150 students are asked to come in college on the appointed day. Then almost 50-60 students from them are selected for study in this college. Of course there are some reserve seats for SC / ST/OBC-A /OBC-B/Physically challenged students according to government law.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

From childhood I love mathematics. So I want to study higher in mathematics. Moreover mathematics department of this college is so renowned. So I choose this college for mathematics hons. Our department has 15 well qualified professors and 2 computer lab expert. No of total students of our department including 3 b.sc years is almost 150. So there are one teacher for every 10 students. Most of teachers are well qualified and P. Hd. holders. Their teaching method is so beautiful and they are too student friendly. In B. Sc. degree there are 6 semesters in our college and duration of a semester is 6 months. In each semester there are two exam. One is midsem which is held at the middle of a semester. The other is endsem which is held at the end of a semester. The qualification of the next semester is depend on these two exams. The exams are quite difficult but if one can study properly, it is easy to pass those exam for him.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

There are many internship available for students in our college. Many companies like Freeco, doubtnut etc offer those internships. They offer us various roles like subject matter expert, content development, teaching students, etc. If any students can participate on thos, they can easily earn Rs 6000-10000/month.

Fees and Financial Aid

In starting of every year students have to pay Rs.12000 and the college takes Rs. 1500 before every endsem exam from every students. So total course fee in three years is 45000. I have got a scholarship like SVMCM, basis. The students who have 90% in higher secondary, will get more scholarships like dst inspire, jindal etc. The college provide many paid internship to the students. If anyone wants to participate in those from the heart, then he definitely get it.

Campus Life

4

The college conducts many cultural programmes like freshers welcome, farewell, annual prize distribution ceremony, annual sports, etc. Moreover, the college conducts 2-3 seminars every month in which many guest professors and scientists are come in our college and teach us. Our college has a big and well-decorated library which contains a huge number of expensive books and foreign journals on my subject. The classrooms are well organized. There are adequate light and wind. Moreover, there are many modern facilities like projectors, smart boards, etc. The college conducts annual sports every year. Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
