Remarks

It was my dream to get into Miranda House (NIRF Rank 1), University of Delhi. And after getting my board exam results, I could see this desire someday turning into reality. It was a fine afternoon when I entered Miranda with a lot of hope, nervousness, and a kit of documents. The cut-off for my course was 95.75 percent, so I easily got into it. The whole admission process was not very smooth as everyone I was new to it. For the form filling and the other paperwork, I had to run through those amazing corridors of Miranda, ran to the principal office for getting the signatures done. At last, there was a short interaction with the teacher-in-charge of the department as well. And the dream was fulfilled.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

My course is BSc Mathematics(H), the reason being the aptitude of solving complex mathematical problems was somehow developed into me over the course of my school years. The professors are highly qualified and they try their level best to make us understand each and every point the rest is on us how much are we involved. Tests, vivas, assignments are conducted on a regular interval to keep a check on us and let the teachers be in the loop of what we are able to understand.

Internships Opportunities

4

A plethora of opportunities is available. One just need to be curious about knowing these things and keep working hard to build in their CV according to the kind of career they want ahead.Various kinds of internships are there ranging from social work, HR, teaching related, social media marketing, campus ambassador. They are both stipend and non-stipend based.

Placement Experience

4

Impressive job opportunities is provided by Placement Cell,Miranda House which is working in collaboration with various big companies such as Accenture. The packages they offer are lucrative ranging from 4-18 LPA. Students from last year of their college are applicable and the course for almost every opportunities vary.A good percentage of students get the placedBut their are people who don't want to get into this directly and wants to study further and I'm one of them.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee is around 15000 per year which is manageable for a good amount of students. But taking into consideration the ones who cannot, different scholarships are provided by the college as well as the government. They are course specific, need based, merit based, and several others. And various internships are there if one's want to earn simultaneously (stipend and non-stipend both)

Campus Life

4.5

Miranda as I mentioned earlier was a DREAM COLLEGE. It makes you a different person when you enter, you learn and unlearn things, your mind, your thinking ability, your way of approaching things grow. You are more matured. This is the kind of environment which Miranda gives. A lot of competition, co-curricular take place regularly and the different societies they give you exposure which is the best part of college life. The library of Miranda has so much to offer to you if you are interested enough. The labs are the best the kind of facilities which are provided are highly appreciated, washrooms are so well managed and cleaned. And lastly the fest, may that be department fests, DIWALI MELA, or the TEMPEST (college fest) which are generally held in the month of Februray - March are astonishing and you get to enjoy a lot.

Students of 6th sem are eligible for the campus selection process. Our course also have placement programs. Some companies that visit here are TCS, Wipro and few more the no of offers made depend upon the performance of student in the placement cell. The highest package as per my knowledge is 13 lakhs and the average here is 6 lakhs. Sorry for the inconvenience but I don't have any knowledge regarding the job profile given. The placement percentage changes every year depending upon the respective batch. My planning after the course is either placement otherwise my prime goal CSE.
