Entrance Preview

I gave the following Examinations JEE - 140 Marks, BITSAT - 130 Marks, IPU - 31000 Rank(approx). I chose this college as I wanted to pursue my studies in computer Science But I did not got admission through JEE or BITSAT in engineering. There were some private colleges but they are expensive and not that good. So i instead decided to go for Bsc (h) from DU.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is well diversified, it is more kind of a general course which sets the base for the higher studies like MCA, Msc etc. These are the subjects in our curriculum.

Internships Opportunities

No, My college do not provide internship from itself unless there is a company which wants to hire interns and eagerly approaches college to provide platform for hiring process.

Placement Experience

3.5

The college has a Career Development Centre(CDC) which has a team consisting of both teachers and students. This year the placement process has just started and 2 students from my class have been placed at Deloitte India with a package of 3 LPA. Other Companies that came to campus till now are Bain Capability Centre ( 10 LPA) (Business analyst), Rocket Reach (6 LPA) (Business analyst), Willis Tower Watson (5 LPA).

College Events

4.5

The college has many events and activities throughout the year Some are Annual Cultural Fest . This the cultural fest of our college which has a footfall of approximately 2000 students every year. It is a 2 day event in which many Dance , singing , Bands and other competitions are held. the fest also has celebrity visits with the likes of Falak Shabbir , SUNBURN ,Manjot Singh etc performing in the fest in past years.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for college is very feasible. As it is a government college , the fees for the college is very much affordable and feasible. The total fess for different courses are BMS - Rs 14,535, BBA (FIA) - Rs 25,535, B.sc(Hons) - Rs 30,735.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The college in association with the KPMG runs a Scholarship program which provides scholarships every year to the financially week background students. The scholarship is of approximately rs 10,000 which is offered to 20-30 students approx. The students are required to fill a form and then the filtering process takes place followed by tests and interviews on the basis of which students are selected for the scholarship.

Campus Life

2.5

The campus life is not much a fancy type. The gender ratio is about 60 males per 40 females. The college has a small ground which is only of sand and no grass. The college has a big number of Societies (28) which consists of cultural, management, sports ,technical etc. The college has NO UNION and is not a part of D.U.S.U and thus no elections are held and no politics.

Alumni/Alumna

We recently have a session where college alumni students visited the college and told their experience where the were working ,gave tips and advises and were all praise for the college. They were really helpful as I found out many insights on further studies and a couple of jobs i didn't know that computer science people can do.

Exam Structure

The labs are conducted regularly for the subjects that have lab work. Usually we have classes from 9-3 (the working hours are from 9-5 ) 5 days a week, sometimes we have classes till 5 also we make it very hectic for that day. We have two exams basically which are Semester Exams (Centralised D.U Exam) which are conducted at the end of every semester.

Admission

I filled the centralised D.U Form for admissions in all colleges of D.U for the course of Bsc (Hons) Computer Science only. The cut-offs were released for every course and college , any student who clears the cut-off for a particular course in a college could take admission in that college. I had a OBC Quota and I cleared the fifth cut-off for this college. I took the admission straightaway and didn't change my mind afterwards.

Faculty

4.5

The college Faculty is best rated for this course in entire Delhi University. Most of the faculty are PHDs and have ample experience in the subject they teach. 2-3 Professors in our faculty have been awarded best teacher award also. As we are a class of 50 students only it gives each faculty member a chance to give attention to every student and so they do.

I think my course was very best for those who have not decided their future plans. They want to explore more field of science not restricted to a particular field (as like me). It includes biochemistry, botany, zoology and physics chemistrynot (not so much). So it gives you number of opportunity to persued different field as your career in future.

I chose this course because it is one such course that can never bore you. I have interest in analytical solving and problem solving. The curriculum is much more theory based and doesn't prepare the students much for real world or corporate world applications
