Honest Review About SOE ,CUSAT

I applied for the School Of Engineering, Cochin University of Science And Technology.No I didn't avail any kind of quota for my admission in SOE, CUSAT. There was an age limit of 19-24 years and students must have a minimum of 60% marks in their respective boards for students who wanted to join Bachelor Of Technology in SOE, CUSAT. Admisssion process was quite easy, first there was 3 online allotments and after that remaining students were called according to their rank in the seminar complex of CUSAT,and then document verification happened and when all he students were verified then all of us were allotted the branch which we opted (but student gets an option regarding they want to still upgrade their allotment or not i.e student have to fill their choice before any kind of allotment then they are allotted with only options they have selected ).

I chose Information Technology in SOE, CUSAT because it has a maximum placement ratio than any other branches except CS and, I also wanted to be in IT Industry. Yes, there are many faculty in my college. I don't have much knowledge regarding their qualifications but some teachers are good. Terms are almost timely, the maximum delay of 10 days and passing exams in SOE, CUSAT is very difficult because we have to score 50% to pass the examination.

From the 7th semester, we are eligible for placement. For IT and CS companies like CISCO- 9 people, TCS Digital-18, INFOSYS (SP) - 2, INFOSYS(DSE)-5, TCS NINJA-100, and many other small startups. The highest package is given by CISCO i.e 23lpa and the average package is around 4 to 5 LPA. For branches like CS/IT placement is 100% while this percentage decrease as we move towards core branches. No, I don't have any plans to get any other degree after B-Tech.

Fee Structure is fixed i.e for students from outside Kerala have to pay approx of 44,700 per sem whereas Keralite general students pay approx 27000 and SC/ST of Kerala has to pay very very less approx 2000 to 3000 per semester. I don't have that mush idea regarding scholarship.

DISHNA is a tech-fest organized by SOE and there are multiple other fests organized by other colleges in our University. Usually, it happens in the month of February. There are lots of books available in our SOE Library and University Library, all the books necessary for a student is available irrespective of subjects. Lots of Sports and extracurricular activities are done on campus like inter-college cricket tournaments, chess tournaments, etc.
