Remarks

I have applied for my Master's degree in English at Delhi University and IP University. I gave the entrance exam for both the university. DU cut-off was quite high and I wasn't able to get admission. In IP, there were only 60 seats and the course is only provided by the main campus of the university. My CET rank was 89. I paid counseling fees of 1000 rupees and in the 3rd session of counseling, I got the seat. In IP university, they don't avail OBC quota. A minimum of 50% is required in your graduation to apply for the course. I paid half the amount of the fees (40,000) online after my seat allotment and the other half during my document submission( offline process) in college by draft (40,000). 5000 in the fee is the security deposit, which is refundable. Document submission didn't take much time and was done in 15 minutes. After submission, they provided me an admission slip. The admission process was done.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I am always interested in English and literature as a subject is quite fascinating to me. For me, English was the perfect subject to do my masters. University provides one additional subject in each semester like seminar papers and theatre to make students participate more and to for their practice for future if they opt for a professional degree. Masters have only 60 or below students in each batch. Most of the teachers have their Doctorate in their specialization. They evaluate students ' class participation, group discussion, internals, and attendance. In each semester there were internal (20) and external exams (75). Exams were quite easy for you if you have done your research and read the novel or drama thoroughly twice or thrice. Class notes are quite helpful in exams.

During Covid, the university did some changes in fees for the students who lost their guardians. They also hire for the campus job timely.

Campus Life

4

Due to covid, we didn't get to see campus much as our online classes are going on. The annual fest is conducted in the month of February "Anugoonj". All type of literature resources is available in the college library. They provide jstor and other subscriptions to the students. Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always held that the training I recieved during my masters programme prepared the grounds for my future development. The teaching pedagogy was centres around participation and a two way dialogue. I am not in the capacity to be suggesting improvements in curriculum as my stint in the university was almost perfect- more than I could have ever asked for.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well designed by the renowned professors and faculty members from different universities in India and from abroad as well. The content was choosen keeping in mind to cover all the aspects of the specific subject for a pg student. As I mentioned before, the quality of study material was very good and helpful and very enough. But the pg thesis is missing from our course, due to which we were not able to do a research project. It appears to me after the completion of my first year that we can do our research under our given faculty but it wasn't mentioned in the course structure as it is mainly upto our faculties.

In IGNOU, you can study from anywhere because the courses are offered in distance and online mode. You don’t have to attend regular college; you can study at home using the books, PDFs, and online lectures. Course Curriculum Overview:

For the course i must say that this is something everyone needs to study about even if it's for just a part. We have ethics, moral, cultural relativism and etc. In our syllabus and it all really help to make our thinking rational, to see World from that point of view from where one can see the clarity. It's really necessary for improvement in personality and making good decision. I think there's need for making this course more practical like teaching, we can teach students about essentials of philosophy for there betterment of decision making from an early age.
