Entrance Preview

I always had an inclination towards English Literature which went sky rockets after finishing graduation in the same subject. I could also go for Masters but M.A. in English remained my first priority. I appeared for Delhi University's examination for M.A. English and my rank was 78 in general students.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Course structure is awesome no doubts. However, I would like to mention that it is more about individual performance and a student has to be active. Spend time in Library and make as much use of resources as you can. At the end it is your own understanding of literature and subject which matters and makes a difference. As far as the course structure goes, it has no flaws at all.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, many companies come for campus placement and the stipend depends on one's own caliber. It's about how active and intelligent you are. Overall experience is super amazing.

Placement Experience

5

Breaking records this year in campus placement in University of Delhi's (DU) prestigious Lady Sri Ram College witnessed a whopping 29 lakh package from a management consulting company. Third year commerce student Rhea Grover got this overwhelming offer from Parthenon-EY. This is the highest package received by the college in past few years.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is quite feasible. M. A. ENGLISH (Hons.) for General is 17876, for PWD it is 1550 and for Foreign students it is 22890. Any additional Fee or Increase in Fee by the University, will be charged in addition to above Fee. If a student applies for withdrawal of admission, a certain quantum of fees will be deducted as per the University of Delhi rules for refund of fees on account of withdrawal of admission.

Fees and Financial Aid

I do not have any idea about it as I have never availed any such scholarship. though I have heard that the university provides some. A large number of freeships as well as scholarships are awarded to students at LSR every year. Students who meet certain criteria of academic merit are awarded scholarships while others are awarded freeships.

Exam Structure

The MA programme offered by the English Department constitutes its oldest and most extensive academic activity. On an average about 250 students are given admission to this program every year. These students are spread across the Main and the South Campuses and the Non Collegiate Women’s Educational Board. The M.A. English syllabus comprises 16 courses to be taught over 4 semesters and in 2 years.

Admission

Delhi University has two admission criterias for M.A. English. One is direct admission and the other is through entrance test. The university releases separate lists for both of them. In order to get direct admission, a student has to have exceptionally brilliant scores in graduation mark-sheet. Anything above 65% is good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always held that the training I recieved during my masters programme prepared the grounds for my future development. The teaching pedagogy was centres around participation and a two way dialogue. I am not in the capacity to be suggesting improvements in curriculum as my stint in the university was almost perfect- more than I could have ever asked for.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well designed by the renowned professors and faculty members from different universities in India and from abroad as well. The content was choosen keeping in mind to cover all the aspects of the specific subject for a pg student. As I mentioned before, the quality of study material was very good and helpful and very enough. But the pg thesis is missing from our course, due to which we were not able to do a research project. It appears to me after the completion of my first year that we can do our research under our given faculty but it wasn't mentioned in the course structure as it is mainly upto our faculties.

You don’t have to attend regular college; you can study at home using the books, PDFs, and online lectures. IGNOU also provides online teachers through live classes, recorded videos, and doubt-clearing sessions on their online platforms. This makes it easy for students to learn even if they are working or living in another city.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For the course i must say that this is something everyone needs to study about even if it's for just a part. We have ethics, moral, cultural relativism and etc. In our syllabus and it all really help to make our thinking rational, to see World from that point of view from where one can see the clarity. It's really necessary for improvement in personality and making good decision. I think there's need for making this course more practical like teaching, we can teach students about essentials of philosophy for there betterment of decision making from an early age.
