Nipun's Review On Malout Institute Of Management And Information Technology - [MIMIT], Malout

At that time in 2007, I appeared for PTU exam. Do not remember my score, but got the rank somewhere around 2200. Had made up my mind to take admission in a Government college and wanted a stream Computer Engineering or IT. The same was available only in MIMIT as Outside Delhi admissions were restricted to 15% only.

Course curriculum was kind of ok. It was out dated for some subjects. For Instance there was less of Java in syllabus. It should have been for one full year apart from other knowledge like Dot net etc. This is nothing related to MIMIT but the syllabus setup by University - PTU.

The college offered Internship period of 6 months in last year. But students themselves had to search for training. No stipend received by me during this period. Overall experience was good. Spent my 6 months of training in CMC Limited.

Training Placement in 2006/07 was not good. Few People got placed as a result of joint campus held in Chitkara, Rajpura. Offered packages ranged from 2.2 to 2.6 Lacs per annum. Infosys - 2.2 lac - Later increased to 2.7-2.9 depending upon Training performance.

College lacked the Alumni network. This could lead to better interaction between the passouts and ones pursuing. This could help in better Trainings and placements.

It was chilled out. No major strain 3 Mid session tests and one Final Exam every semester. While calculating the result 2 best MST results were taken and clubbed with Semester results. Labs use to happen for better understanding and had 20% marks for semester.
