Remarks

I was admitted to this University through NTA ICAR exam. As it is one of the best agricultural universities in India, you have to score at least 400+ marks out of 600 in the ICAR-UG exam to get a seat allotment. I have taken admission in this course through general rank. After the ICAR exam, you have to fill and lock choices in ICAR's official counselling website icarexam. Net and if you get decent marks, you can surely apply for this university.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The whole course curriculum of agricultural engineering is divided into 8 semesters throughout 4 years. There is a huge difference between B.Sc. Agriculture course and B.Tech. Agricultural Engineering course, so doesn't mess between these two. Here faculty and student ratio is 1:30, i.e. batch strength is very less. Faculty members in our college are very generous and have well teaching experience of 10-15 years. Term exams are conducted two times every year, the difficulty level is moderate and the pass percentage is more than 50%.

Placement Experience

4

Placement cells are improving day by day but not much active till now. Very few companies visit our campus which is why maximum students opt for higher studies. After that, they can apply for the assistant professor post which is very prestigious. Very very much less scope in government jobs. Salaries are good appx. 4 LPA but opportunities are lesser. Recently companies from Thailand and new Zealand visited our campus and offered various jobs to students which is a positive side.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yeah, fees are a little bit higher than other ICAR agricultural universities approximately Rs. 25000 per semester without hostel and food charge. I am not a hosteller so not aware of hostel charges. All students in our course get Rs. 3000 ICAR scholarship per month that help us in financial adversities. Professors also give scholarships to poor but meritorious students.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus is very beautiful with marvellous surroundings, vast research plants, beautiful gardens, long agricultural fields, sports grounds etc. Farmer's fest named Kishan Mela, cleanliness drives, hostel surveys and cultural programmes are conducted every year. The campus crowd is low because of the hilly region. The library is huge and packed with many agricultural books. Classrooms are smart and well-developed but labs are averagely furnished. Lack of Wi-Fi facility and pure water facility is the largest problem in our university.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
