Kirori Mal College - [KMC], B.Sc, Physical Sciences
Reviewed on Jul 28, 2021(Enrolled 2016)

Remarks

I have applied to other colleges. For example - Ajay kumar Garg (AKG), Ghaziabad and Galgotia, Noida for B.Tech but due to high course fees, I didn't opt for these colleges. I didn't availed any quota for admission. Kirorimal College is affiliated to Delhi University and the university takes admission on the basis of the percentage in 12th standard. There is no minimum age for taking admission. The only criteria is that you have passed the 12th standard with good percentage. The minimum percentage for my course for the general case was 92%, I have taken admission with 93.80%. The admission process was very easy. Only you have to check the cut off list of Delhi university and check for colleges, for which your percentage is in the range as specified by the college. Then, you have to go to the college for documents verification and the process of verification of documents is very easy and you will find many students who are ready to help you.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course includes Physics, Maths and Chemistry and I want to study all these atleast at the level of my Bachelors that's why I have chosen the course. The faculties are extremely good and there are some faculties who have their Masters, some have PhDs. The faculty to student ratio is about 1:20 for my course. The teaching method was efficient and all teachers are good and ready to help anyone. There was only 1 exam at the end of the semester and the exam is not too hard. If someone had attended the classes only then, he or she can pass the exam with good marks. Overall the academic plans are good.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Teach for India is the one and the role was to teach students. There are several other designing companies that offer internships in the college. There are good internship opportunities available in the college.

Placement Experience

4

After 2nd year, students are eligible for placements. Various companies visit the college every year like Infosys, Wipro, Deloitte etc. and various other IT and Management companies. The highest package offered was about 30 lakhs and the average package was about 8 lakhs. About more than 100 companies visited the college and there were about 600 offers made. There are about 80% students placed who applied for placements. I am currently doing a master.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is too minimal that most students can afford it easily. It is only 10000. There are scholarships also which are given to students who are in financially bad condition. They call for an interview and if they find your problem genuine then, you will get the full tution fees waiver. As if, there is no name for scholarship but this is like financial assistance from the college. And, there is no job in the college with a stipend.

Campus Life

5

The annual fest is Spectrum. It is generally conducted at the starting of February month. The library has a wide variety of books. There are 2 libraries for bookkeeping and there are 2 reading halls. You will find all the books on the curicullum in the library. There are 3 cards issued for my course, which means I can avail myself of 3 books at a time from the library. The classrooms are spacious with good ventilation and are equipped with all the basic facilities like light and fans etc. The college supports sports and extracurricular activities on a great level. There are various sports which are played in the college like Badminton, cricket, basketball etc. There are various clubs and groups which are run by students. In fact, Delhi university colleges are known for their clubs also. There are Gender Clubs, Debating Societies, Art Clubs, Placements Clubs etc.

Highest package of Hindu College is 36.5 LPA and the average package is 11.4 LPA. Hindu College has a high placement rate of 95% of eligible students securing a placement here. My plan is to prepare for UPSC or SSC-CGL after my degree.
