Entrance Preview

It didn't require an entrance exam. It was based on 12th standard board score. I had 87%. This college I had rightly heard was one of the best colleges in the University, especially for Science courses.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum was accommodative. There were assignments, tests, presentations to supplement core examination. There was a perfect balance of theory and practical. We were encouraged to work extensively in lab. We had a course called Environmental Chemistry in First year. In second year we had to choose between Computer Science or Commerce.

Placement Experience

3

It wasn't a technical course offering college like Engineering or medical but still it had some of the companies like Google, Yahoo, some pharmaceutical companies too to hire us based on examinations and interviews. Packages I don't exactly remember.

College Events

5

College fest 'Tempest' is worth mentioning. The 3-day phenomenon sees celebrities, an outstanding crowd and a lot of vigour. There are fests for each department. We hold lot of cultural as well as department related competitions respectively. They give you not only victory but fame too if you nail them.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very feasible, For my course, Chemistry honours - It was approximately 10,000 a year. It included tuition fee, developments charge etc that included charge to buy chemicals and apparatuses to let us learn our subject. For art courses it was even less.

Fees and Financial Aid

There was a Baseline Scholarship test for science students. You need to clear a test to avail the scholarship. There are many more.

Exam Structure

It now follows semester system pattern like every college in the University of Delhi. There are practical exams followed by theory every six-years now. Practical exams took 5 hours a day. It was hectic but fun. There were three practical exams for three subjects one in three days. Theory exams used to follow after good 10-15 days.

Admission

That time a centralised form was released for all colleges of Delhi University. After filling that form a cutoff list was released that told which college had set what percentage as their cutoff for admission to different courses. Then you need to go in the college of your choice, procure a form from the administration, fill it up, and then follow the procedure.

Faculty

3.5

Overall it was very good. They tried their best to make us understand the concept in a better way. They used chalk and board, powerpoint, 3-D images of molecules and what not. Teachers used to take extra classes at the expense of their good leisure times. We had made good notes all our college life, all thanks to our teachers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The core subjects are very well divided, the main problem arises with the other additional subjects which requires efforts as same as the other subject even though they don't hold any importance as such. Maybe reducing other subject or making them practical based instead of theory based would be helpful.

The placements of my college are moderate as the average package is ?6.5 lakhs and the highest package is around ?23.02 lakhs . Many prestigious companies like delloite, accenture have held various placement sessions in DRC and it's overall a good to place for companies to get high skilled students. The placement cell is very active too which makes it possible for our college to get many internships and placements opportunities.

i think it's very outdated and not of any practical use unless you go for research and scientific fields of science. it does not prepare much for the real world and current market but teaches about biology and chemistry which helps sometimes. the frequency if exam is fine.

The Fest organised by this college is Priyadarshini and the annual fest Rajnigandha. The Fest are not great in comparison to other du college and are not that much celebrated. There are many different kinds books present in library like literature,Hindi, Chemistry, Maths, zoology, biology, botany, political science, History Geography the books are only alloted till 12pm and only for 15 days after that you will be charged if book is not returned Sports and Extracurricular are good but classrooms are not that great most projectors in classrooms don't work . There are many good societies in college like jamini the art society and others but joining has caused students to leave their classes which affects them academically

The placements cell Avenues regarding the placement offers coming to the college. Major companies of the job market come to the campus for recruitment like KPMG, deloitte, zepto, EY, ZS Associates and many more. The students from the final year itself gets eligible for placements. Around 30-40% students get the palcements through the placement drive. The highest package during the last palcement season was around 18 to 20LPA, while the average was 7 to 8LPA. I will certainly go for higher studies in operational research.
