Remarks

Miranda house. A college which is a dream of every student to get into. One of the top rated colleges of Delhi University is totally impeccable. Freedom within boundaries builds up a horizon for students to rise high in career but with great moments of happiness and enjoyment. Let it be the highly qualified and intellectual faculty or their interaction with students which builds a relationship between them. Its not justa college , its a family. Providing students with numerous of courses with all streams; science, commerce or arts. It has a seat for every student interested in rising up in career in any field. Well, all smiles enter in college at 8 and prefer to remain in their until the gates are closed. A day well spent, where the students attend classes which are highly maintained keeping in view the comfort of students. Interestingly, study is fun. The dedication with which the staff give lectures as if they want to put everything they have into the minds of students keeps us awstruck. One place where studies are fun. The projects and assignments have always been fun, forcing us to introduce our individual skills into it.

Entrance Preview

I was always fond of nature . Plants made me realise how beautiful is life i selected botany honours due to my interest in this field .I want to explore more about the plants and make discoveries which will help humans to fight diseases. I scored good score in my 12th CBSE boards exams due to which I'm now the part of this prestigious college.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

My main motive to do this course is to be in research field. Before selecting the course I viewed the entire 3 years syllabus which will be taught to me . I find it precise and focused as the topics the knowledge are of upcoming research. These days people are shifting from chemical medicines to ayurvedic medicines so here comes the research about new combinations of plants species for better medicines , products and solutions so on.

Internships Opportunities

My college MIRANDA HOUSE provides internship in my breaks especially during the summer break where students are being payed for the work they do. Being a first year I don't have much information about the companies involved during this process.

Placement Experience

4

Being a first year student I don't have much knowledge about the companies offer about this topic i saw online that companies like ranbaxy have placed students directly from college itself with good amount of package salary the one I saw was of 2013 batch were around 300 students were placed during placement time.

College Events

4.5

Orientation day was celebrated for fresher's on 2 week I joined my college then came the independence day which was celebrated with dance and singing performance based on patriotism. We have Diwali mela during which different departments and colleges participated in setting up stalls.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was the first thing I like the most i being a student of private school payed heavy fees for studies and my development. Here the fees is such even a person from poor family being keen to study can compete his higher studies all thanks to central government.

Hostel Facilities

5

Our canteen is clean with freshly made delicious food for all at very nominal prices type of food service location within an institution in which there is little or no waiting staff table service a cafeteria is a type of food service location in which there is little or no waiting staff table service, whether a restaurant or within an institution such as a large office building or school; a school dining location is also referred to as a dining hall or canteen (in British English).

Alumni/Alumna

DU offers some of the best courses in the country and is one of the leading universities in India in terms of publishing research papers and studies. The faculties are experienced and some of them become your mentors for life.

Exam Structure

We have practicals exams too therefore we have labs which are clean and tidy always the lab staff helps us in experiment during practical classes the practicals in the syllabus are interesting and once they are done we feel relaxed and more boosted up.

Admission

My goal was to be a part of North campus i was always determined to score good in 12th CBSE boards in order to grab a seat over here . I got admission during merit lists. After boards exams Delhi university release it's application form after which cutoff list are released . Students eagerly wait for this list to be out. I we have the required score or percentage we can then apply for admission during which all our original documents are rechecked with absolute accuracy.

Faculty

4

All the teachers in my collage or I must say the botany department teachers here are qualified and the knowledge they have is always updated. The facts with which they start their lecture make us even more interesting to us i love being their student they are always present for any doubts or queries about topics with accurate knowledge.

I will rate the course curriculum 8/10. I like the labs specially they are modern with well equiped systems. According to me I suggest to improve the course structure to include more practical based learning instead of theory. Overall course is good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
