Insights of UPES, Dehradun

UPES is in Dehradun and has a competitive environment. In Addition, College has great placement statistics. No, I did not avail any quota. To get admission into one, one has to score a good percentage in graduation as well as on boards. There's no such age limit here. The admission process was smooth, rank lists were displayed on the website, and one had to report in college to confirm the seat

Maths has always intrigued me, Right from secondary education, Moreover, I had a BSC in maths and had the option to get converted to a dual degree. Thus I choose this course. The ratio is 1:8 and professors give individual attention to students as much as possible. Most of the teachers are Mtech and Ph.D. qualified. PPT and pdf are shared in online mode, and proctored exams happen to avoid malpractices. Exams were conducted timely and papers was of moderate level

The highest package was of INR 45 lakhs, More than 2000+ students get placed into well-known companies like bosch ,nestle, panasonic , novartis etc. Different profiles are available for on-campus placement like coding, analyst, core etc. More than 70% of students are able to grab offers on campus, while others go for off-campus placement.

There's no uniform fee hike policy. It depends on authority and college administration. Alumni-funded scholarships and some special scholarships for meritorious students are available on campus. There's no such job on campus, but one can apply in internships to earn a stipend.

The campus is in Dehradun, and the view from the campus of hills is fantastic. SPE is our main fest which is related to petroleum. However, there are many facilities in the city. The library is huge and a lot of variety of books are there covering most of the domains taught in college. Classrooms are equipped with ac , projectors and blackboards. Since the college is in area, Huge grounds for football can't be available. However, GYM, volleyball,basketball and shooting practice is there in college.

Hostels are equipped with AC and a personal washroom in each room. Food quality is above average. A variety of food is served ,including fast foods in breakfast and evening snacks. The hostel is allotted by the college if one opts for a campus hostel. Otherwise, PG and day scholars are also there. Mine hostel was present inside the college itself

GD would revolve around current affairs. In my case, It was more focused on MOM ( mars orbital mission). The interview panel was asking straightforward but tricky questions. After one clears GD and interviews, They can get admission into the college. I prepared mainly through online lectures and youtube channels.
