Raman Kumar's Review On Chinmaya Degree College - [CDC], Haridwar

The college though has a few shortcomings but its not that much. Every college has a few shortcomings. All in all my college is pretty good enough as per our city standards and can improve too. The only thing I have complaint about is the lack of placements.

For M.Sc no entrance test is required the admissions are based on merit. I did not had any other option in my city for M.Sc. Comp. Sc.

The course is same as most of other universities and is controlled by the HNB University, Gharwhal.

The college doesnt provide internship directly to the students although the faculty helped in that matter. The stipend depends on the company and student performance in college.

There are no placements for M.Sc. Comp. Sc. but faculty helped in securing jobs to most of the students. Many students are placed in noida and gurgaon in good IT companies.

The college celebrates annual festival each year and cultural activities and other activities are there. In sports Cricket tournament is held every year. The events are college level only no outside participation is there.

The fee structure is feasible enough for a middle class student and no extra charges are levied on students in the name of cultural charges, sports charges, medical charhes, etc. The fee for M.Sc. Comp Sc is 18000 per semester. For 1st sem only you need to pay around 2000 extra as refundable security and university regestration fees.

I dont know about any such scheme neither do I belive any such thing is there. There is a relaxation to SC/ ST students only that I have no knowledge about.

The computer labs are good and spacious and recently been upgraded with latest speced desktops. Sports material for cricket football volleyball is readily available with the sports incharge of the college. We attended 2 workshops from college in other cities. Our department also holds a few hackathons for the students on a small level only.

I didnt availed the hostel facility. But as far as I have heard from my fellow mates the hostel was pretty clean and the food was also good. The college provides hostel only to girls there is no boys hostel in college.

The exam schedule is as per the university guidelines. The exams have much gap for studies in between and allow the students to be at ease.

The faculty is cooperative and qualified. The teachers are pretty helpful during the course of degree and even after passing out they are keen to offer help to students for jobs or further studies. The standards are not very high but as per the small town the standards are good.
