Remarks

I have applied in various government colleges in west bengal where I wasn't selected. I was only selected in Coochbehar Government Engineering College Being a general category I didn't avail any quota To get admission in this college u have to score 40 to 60 marks in wbjee and min age should be 18 The admission process was simple through online couselling and at the college you need to verify your documemts only and thats it, welcome to CGEC(COOCHBEHAR GOVERNMENT ENGINEERING COLLEGE)

Course Curriculum Overview

Mechanical branch is the oldest branch of engineering and I have the interest in thermal machines and automobile thats why I chose mechanical branch There are about 10 to 13 faculty present in our college and increases with the guest faculty comes and student ratio will e 20:1 All the faculty member are either M.tech or Phd. And they are very experienced to take class. You will love it. The term exams are held as the university directed and dificulty level is moderate.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 10000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Because of state government college there are no hike in fees . The tution fees will be 3000 rs per semester and 1200 rs for exam form fillup and thats it. No other fees will be charged. A student with above 75% higher secondary marks can get swami vivekananda scholership and other can get the quota scholership and all. Due to I have a drop after my 12th so I didn't get any scholarships.

Campus Life

There are the main anual fest with is tech cum cultural fest named as ESPARANZA and its conducted in the month of March or April The library is in moderate in size. But you can get any books of your course. Classroom amenties are very good. Clean and student friendly class we have. Being a sports person I love my college very well.we have 2 big ground one for cricket and another for footbal and have 2 small ground one for volleyball and badminton. There are many social groups for every aspect like for singing Arieta , for art Rongmilanti, and many more.

Story of hit

Placement Experience:

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Like tcs infosys cognizant ibm Capgemini like companies comes every year with good placement and capsitech gives you internship from 3 year . From 7th sem you are eligible for campus placement in 2025 the avg package is 5-7 lpa and Highest lpa is 75lpa . My plan is getting good job in good company

Placement Experience:

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.
