Remarks

I applied to Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women for the course of BCom Hons after the cutoff was released by DU. I did not avail any quota from the college as I'm from the general category. The admission Criteria for B.Com Hons was that you should have had mathematics till class 12th with a minimum of 50% and the percentage of best four marks was calculated for the admission purpose in which English language subject was compulsory. The admission process was really smooth. I didn't have to wait in the queue for the process. Everything was well managed. Different teachers were allotted Different courses for the admission process which made the process smooth.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Mostly there are a limited number of options after 12th in commerce line and DU is most famous for B.Com Hons degree. So this was the main reason that many students opt for B.Com Hons as their bachelor's degree. There are qualified and experienced facilities and the faculty: ratio is almost like 1 person over 10 students. The teaching method is effective. Teachers explain a thing until everyone gets it. Practical examples are given. Terms exams are easy to pass even if you study for a month with dedication and maintain the notes given in the class.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

New startups like Yaadgar Safar, are some of the internships that are offered with different profiles like marketing, graphics designer, content writers, HR, with the basic stipend of 2000 to 15000 with respect to the roles.

Placement Experience

3.5

There is a placement cell in the college and mostly, students are eligible to apply for the campus placement in their final year but the placements are not too good. The packages are average around 3 to 5 lacks. My plans are to get this degree is getting placement for some time to get experience and then go for MBA abroad.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee to study in SPMC is minimal with an amount of 9000 approximately for BCom Hons students per year. The college has a placement cell where students get the opportunity to do internships and get placed with the companies with an average annual package of around 5 lacks.

Campus Life

5

Life at the campus is just like a Vibgyor. If you look at studies or academics, teachers are extremely concerned about that and if you see about the social life at the campus, the college excels in that too. The Annual Cultural fest of the college "SRIJAN" mostly happens in the month of March for 2 days. The library is huge having 3 floors. Mostly each book is available in the library and the staff is too cooperative. The college provides students with an open gym, indoor gym, different sports, ncc, yoga groups, canteen, and the biggest auditorium Rajib Gandhi auditorium. There are different clubs and Societies made up in the college for dancing, music, theatres society and the most famous in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since it is open learning university..they couldn't give us time.. because the class also got started 1 month before exam...and teachers had to finish...the syllabus. But they don't really care about us. And syllabus I think is okay .. in Commerce. It is updated.

Placement Experience:

After completing 4 semester you are eligible to sit into on-campus placements i.e. after completing your second year. Companies start to arrive in final year or pre final year of you're going for 4 year degree. Big 4 companies like Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PWC and other companies like accenture, zomato, airtel can be seen in placement season. Average package is 4-5 LPA ranging from college to college and depends individual skill set and practical experience. Highest could go upto 22LPA in our college. Half of the students gets placed during the season but not all. After competition of degree students can pursue various courses like CA, CS or praper for CAT/GMAT.

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.
