Remarks

For Journalism and Mass Communication, my first choice was the Delhi School of Journalism but I didn't get into it. So my next preference was IPU. IPU always conducts a CET common entrance test for the colleges under it. The eligibility criteria for appearing in CET is your age must be no more than 21 for bachelor programs and for the Master's program the age limit is 45. The eligible minimum marks for CET is different for all the respective courses. But the one should pass 12th (10+12 pattern) from a recognised Board. After the clearance of entrance. The one is supposed to rank the colleges on the basis of their preferences. The CET marks are ranking that will tell you if you will get your desired college or not. The admission process is quite simple you just have to go to college and they will provide you with some paperwork for files and that's all about the admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I always wanted to pursue Journalism and mass communication. For journalism in IPU VIPs and MAIMS are the two best colleges. Maharaja Agrasen Institute of management studies is really good for the one who wants to pursue Journalism and mass communication. The faculty members are super supportive and friendly. There are in total 12 faculties for Journalism and mass communication course. All the facilities are either pursuing their PhD or completed their PhD. This course of three years with 6 semesters. The evaluation of final marks is based on internal assessment, external assessment, class activities, participation and attendance.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is different for respective courses. The fees structure of BA(JMC) is one lakh and six thousand per year. No, there is no scholarship as such but yes, you can pay in two instalments after discussing it with the administration. Yes, the college has different placement cells for all courses. BA(JMC) course have its placement cell that will provide you with the best opportunity for internships and jobs throughout your course. Especially, they will recommend paid internships from top companies for their students.

Campus Life

4.5

The college campus is huge and it spread around 500 acres of land. The campus has 12 blocks for different courses and has internal and external sports ground with all the specialized equipment. The campus has one auditorium with 4 canteens. The classrooms are clean and have AC installation in every classroom. Other than that the college has various social clubs and societies. The famous societies are Samgra the drama society, Manthan the literature society, UHC the dance society, WAC the photography society and the list goes on. The college is well known for its campus life and its societies. I will definitely recommend students to do participate in these societies as they are really beneficial for your social networking.

The placements are really good for commerce, economics, Maths, Stats but for the other department's students it might be a bit challenging to find a company of their domain. The students become eligible to sit in placement from 5th semester. The companies that visit my college are Godrej, BCG, McKinsey, Nation with Namo, Blackstone, Accenture, KPMG, EY, citibank, microsoft and Amazon etc.

Reviewed on Mar 14, 2025(Enrolled 2024)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate my course four out of five because in journalism is a field where people are not about so much. The main stream media does not show the real problems and challengs of the country. They live in a bubble of their own. Many of the times they provide miss information to the people which hurts the hearts of the people. They do not cover multiple aspects of media. The exams in the daj is not so hard you can easily pass it by just 4 to 5 days of preparation.
