I took MH-CET entrance exam, I scored 156 out of 200, I was having two choices either get MIT(Kothrud) or VIT, I chose VIT as it is autonomous institute affiliated to Pune university.

Course curriculum is way better than any Pune University college as there are lot of extra curricular subjects which will allow you to enhance your personality like lifestyle management, various languages. It also has tie ups with various foreign universities and also has student exchange programs with Singapore university, and various western universities.

Various companies from TATA, wipro, IBM, Product Dossier, TCS and many small scale companies come for interns, you wont be getting big league companies which come for Campus recruitment as they are not interested in interns.

As far as the placements go, most of them are IT companies, although all branches eligible for most of them. Then 10–15 companies for Mechanical, a few for Instrumentation, Indus-Prod and Chemical. Also finance companies are there with no criteria for eligibility which is a plus.

VIT hosts two events annually, one being Vishwakarandak and the other Melange. Vishwakarandak is an inter department event whereas Melange is a inter college mega event. They have a history of hosting big big names like Mohit Chauhan in 2013, Amit Trivedi in 2016, etc.

For me as of 2016 here is fee structure in simple format, Tuition fees 1,14,000, Library fees 1,200, Development fees 10,000. Total goes around something 1,25,000, it is expensive at least for me but you are free to apply for Govt. Scholarships which most student do apply you get fee reimbursement of around 50,000. But in the beginning you have to pay full fees.

Hostel is good it i will cost you around same as your one year fee, it is around 1,30,000 including food. The mess food is eatable but the owner of the mess is very good gives away bhaji, chapati to anyone for free, during festivals he makes special dishes and gives to everyone irrespective of money.

According to the recent pattern the weightage of end sem has been lowered down to 50%, class test take 20% and mid sems take 20% the remaining 10% includes assignments and stuff.

Admission process was easy as it was a centralised process conducted by DTE Maharashtra, it was complete online process except you have to go to your selected college after being allotted in DTE rounds. Then I had to fill the college admission form after confirming seat in VIT, Every student has to select at least one language among Japanese, German, Sanskrit. I chose Japanese.

There as some professors who have contributed their selves to research programs they seem very enthusiastic to teach, but such professors are very few (you can count them on fingers that too of one hand). Rest of them are experienced but are not that enthusiastic they will help you but you have to approach them.
