Remarks
I applied to 50+ courses provided by a variety of universities and got accepted into a majority of the programs I applied for. I choose JGU because it is not only the leading law school but also has the best interdisciplinary studies which are best suited for my needs to pursue non-mainstream law careers. I had to write the LSAT-India exam to get the required Percentage to be accepted into the law program.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is really engaging and helps the students to get an overall and deep understanding of the material and beyond. The faculty is the best!! Each faculty has either a respectable academic or professional career or both, which helps them to impart knowledge that is beyond the course material and are helping the interested students to learn deeper about the topics.
Internships Opportunities
Office of career services performance a phenomenal job in this aspect. They help in providing the students with national and international internships across various fields, to Carter to the diverse needs of the students. Most if not all of the students who avail the service of OCS secure an internship of their interest.
Placement Experience
I plan on doing an MBA degree after finishing my law program. JGU is constantly improving its placements. A large number of JGU students opt to do a master's degree after the degree at JGU too. JGU has one of the hugest batch sizes in any law school, hence getting placements are extremely competitive.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are probably the only con of being a JGU student as this is one of the most expensive law degrees in India. JGU provides a merit cum means-based scholarship. There have been no changes made to the tuition fee structure even during the covid induced lockdown. But the fees are worth paying as the on-campus experience and return will be worth it.
Campus Life
I am a part of the pandemic batch, hence I've never visited the campus. From the information given by the seniors, I could say that the student life on campus is really good with a vast range of co-curricular activities for the students. The JGU has both an online and offline library, the online library provides access to many reputed publications and University press.
Hostel Facilities
JGU has a policy whereby all students are required to stay on campus, hence no PG is allowed. The hostel fee is very high, but it was not collected as the classes are online during the pandemic. As I belong to the pandemic batch I have never visited the hostel and cannot comment on how good the facilities are.
