Remarks

Overall my college is a unique college having blend of each and every field , may it be any field .My college's management committee is fully dedicated to student's welfare and always promotes new ideas and social causes like women strengthening .It's college where we learn professionalism .

Entrance Preview

I took COMEDK exam for entrance into RV college of engineering i scored well in the exam ,it was an online exam across all over the country (held online first time).I secured 143/180 in comedk exam and got 314 rank on general category basis i had a simple goal to get into rvce if I wasn't able to take cse as a branch in any of the top 6 nits or iits .And luck followed my way,I didn't get cse branch in any of the iits and got cse in nit ,Patna .So,in the counselling for colleges under comedk I got cse branch in rvce.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I being in the first year for the bachelor of engineering degree in computer science and engineering felt a lot of good gut feeling when I got to know about the scheme and syllabus of the college for our batch of 2016-2020 .As It was a new pattern and scheme than the scheme and pattern our seniors had to follow . it is more student-centric now as compared to the previous system, where students were compelled to learn the topics that were too old and it's of no use nowadays and in real life when they had to search for jobs or have their own start up ,being not up to the mark were not able to compete with the other students. Now our college is fully pledged for outcome based education and not output based education. They are more focused on the student-centric syllabus so that students can relate it to the real world and apply when the right time comes. It is totally focused on research program and encourages it's students to publish more and more research papers as it knows the value of research papers and it's not an easy job to do crazy research and publish it with zero plagiarism. We have 3 quizzes and 2 tests for internals + labs for chemistry, physics ,electrical, programming in c,mechanical workshop ,these all totally carry 100+50 =150 marks for internal assessment and we have 150 marks for external assessment .Added totally ,it is 300,converted into 100 and accordingly gpa for each subject is calculated .We have 2 semesters in a year and overall ,for both semester ,gpa is calculated and finally we have cgpa for an year.

Internships Opportunities

Yes ,our college,R V college of engineering provides internship in various different fields and is in collaboration with many of the top companies in world. R V college of Engineering has an excellent placement track record in reputed multinational companies offering salary packages of up to 22 Lakhs (maximum offered salary). Some of the employers who offered jobs include companies like Yahoo, Microsoft, PayPal,Flipkart, Intel, IBM, Amazon, Cisco, Oracle, Google, Infosys, E-bay, Citrix, NetApp, Morgan Stanley, Delloitte, Goldman Sachs, Samsung, Juniper Networks etc.. Internship opportunities are provided for final year and pre-final year students to carry out their projects. More than 40% of the students would go for internships during 6th semester summer vacation which helps them in their placement activities. More than 70% of the students will do internship projects in their final semester.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure ,has always been a major issue for middle-class families like mine ,but it's not an issue here in this college if we want admission in this college on merit .I got admission in this college through comedk and my annual fee is 1,70,000 rupees that is basically at par if we talk about NITS and IIts ,and again being a general merit student ,the most fees is paid by my category students and other categories always have to pay less than what we pay, so I am talking about the fee structure of the standardised level and not a fee structure with concession .Talking about IIts ,there also ,for general merit students ,fees is 2,00,000 rupees and in NITS ,it's 1,25,000 rupees. So,overall , the fee of my college is in a mid way and is appreciable as it's a private institute. If I talk about Karnataka students admitting in R V college of engineering through KCET ,they have to pay only 49,500 rupees annually to college .SO, they are in the best deal as they are having best engineering college in hand to study and make the most of it in home i.e. being in Karnataka and also pay less.So ,that's how the fee structure goes in my college . Again, being a private college ,it can't run without management students ,as they behave as the bankers for the college .But ,then also our college has the least donation quota , I am talking in comparison to other colleges who take donations .So,3 fee structures are there in my college and I find it reasonable.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, of course ,loans are provided by our college .Bonafide certificate and fee structure is what one requires to avail loan from the bank and our college provides us.It also provides extra loans like for buying laptops, overall stationary items costing ,living cost, food cost etc and of course fee loan. So,loan can easily be availed from our college by college students. Yes,scholarship is also provided to those whose parental income is less than a certain amount, say 1,00,000 and to those who are low caste students like scheduled tribes and scheduled castes of Karnataka. They don't have to pay any fees.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is R V college of engineering is very cool and pleasant. One will love to have such a campus .Our whole campus is in a horse's head shape .In day to day college timings ,our mini canteen does a marvellous job in the mini break .All the students and teachers gather there to have quick snacks and it's really cool when you see it from the front .Basically ,our college buildings, unlike other colleges multi-storey buildings ,are 1-2 storey and the whole campus being like that gives the campus a crisp and pleasant view .And makes us feel to stay in college a little more. The gender ratio in our college is really appreciable and it must be as it's a college in Bangalore, one of the most advanced cities in India.Females are really literate and can easily compete with today's males in college I being a north Indian Bihari was really glad to see the open mindset of the girls in college and I really see this as a goal and inspiration for the youth female generation in Bihar(As I know I can't change the mindset of our elder generation).Extra -curricular activities in R V college of engineering is a part of academic edge a student has in this college . It is said in this college that if you are not in any of the teams in the college then you are nothing in college. And yes,I also agree on it as the college offers a lot to it's students .We have technical clubs like ASTRA ROBOTICS,ASHWA RACING,HELIOS MOTOR CAR RACING,VYOMA(airplanes) and many more.We have a debating club called DEBSOC.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network in R V college of engineering is VERY RICH AND STRONG, LIKES OF ANIL KUMBLE,NANDITHA (MUSICIAN),ASHOK NAYAK(CHAIRMAN OF HAL) ETC. have contributed a lot to the students of college in terms of experience sharing ,finding and filling loopholes in college. I am really glad that i study in this college and is able to have the opportunity to gain their sheer knowledge to how to project ourselves in real world, how to manage professionalism with ethics. We inn college had excelsior event in which alumni of rvce who have become entrepreneur now came to bud the upcoming new ideas of young wanna be entrepreneurs like me and gave valuable information of how to build up a company and a lot to tell.

Exam Structure

Exam structure in my college is not as cool as a student will like ,but I see it as a chance given to the college to adopt the new system of student-centric learning and see the output after completion of four years .It is based on comprehensive and continuous evaluation .We are always busy with some or the other work of either preparing for presentations on the given topics for a subject,or completing assignments ,or preparing for tests and quizzes ,or working on the subjects of our own branch and improving our ourselves to compete with the world. Tests and quizzes are a daily routine type exam and it's compulsory so we can't leave them. And they all add up at last for our internal assessment for 150 marks as i discussed earlier. And then we have our external exams of 150 marks where the whole syllabus comes and we have very less time to prepare .Then comes labs,I can say that labs are R V college of engineering are good and lab workers are well skilled in helping us in any way may it be serious problems or lighest of difficulty they are always ready to help.We have 100 marks for lab i.e. 50 for internal assessment and 50 for external assessment so overall ,this is my college's exam structure and I see it as a hectic but time management session where we are made learn to optimise our resources to help us achieve what we want.

Admission

I got into this institute by sheer hard work, to get cse in RV college of engineering is not an easy job and that too through comedk. After I knew I got a seat in RV college of engineering I had the last date to register for admission in the college in the documents I got in the comedk counselling.I came to the college. I ,being eligible to take admission in RV college of engineering through comedk had admission letter and that was to be shown to the administrative office of RV college of engineering .I had to come for admission in RV college of engineering with pre-requested documents like adhaar card ,comedk rank proof, admission letter ,fee payment challan etc So,I went to the administrative office for admission. I asked for the admission process. they had a verification counter to verify if I had all the documents with me, to begin with the procedure of admission. They checked my documents ,it was fine and handed me a step by step admission process module,I had to make a challan in favor of Kotak Mahindra Bank in our college .I made and submitted the challan at the administrative office. Then, I had to go to register myself in the computer systems department.I went there and had my detailed registration for the college as a student .Then, I had to wait for some time by the time i had my official admission letter from RV college of engineering.

Faculty

Our college 's faculty is great being a private institute . It gives a tough fight to the other governmental college teachers. They all are well versed with their theory and have applied those theories in the real world. Most of them are PhDs in their subjects and know the importance of research very well. They have a cool mindset and our college being an autonomous college ,it has given them an extra edge to teach their students what they want and not what a deemed organisation wants .The industrial experience of our professors in more than enough to relate the theoretical part that we study to relate it with real life examples and let the student know where they van improvise ,research etc.I am literally fond of my chemistry professor ,the way he explains, the way he communicates with the students and the amount of examples he gives us to relate with the subject.I am saying that because I never expected chemistry as a subject to be so much interesting ,till twelveth i had a preconcept of mugging up the facts in chemistry and delivering in the exam.As chemistry ,all the other subjects are also interesting as the syllabus is so much relevant to real world. The best part of our faculties is the kindness and devotion they show to make us learn and understand the subject, however, boring or tough it may be.They are always keen to help students and recommend to be more professional and practical that theoretical and careless, unpunctual etc may it be in any work. As a curriculum, they have introduced matlab*(one of the most important software nowadays to learn to compete in real world) as a subject in the 1st year itself,So,one can imagine their student-centric devotion.

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
