Remarks

I got admission to Kirori Mal College of Delhi University. Delhi University is not a single university or college, it consists of more than 60 colleges. Some of them situated on the north campus and the others are on the south campus or off campus. Kirori mal college (kmc) situated on the north campus. Talking about my admission then I got admission through a merit base. Every year Delhi university take admission through the entrance base as well as merit base. For some courses like BBA, BCA, du conducts entrance exam but a course like BSc(h), ba prog., ba(h), BCom etc Delhi university take admission through merit based. Du releases its merit list which based on the class 12 marks. So if you want to take admission in du then you have to score good marks in your class 12 examination. Generally, if you have more than 94% then you have a chance to get north campus colleges. There is no limit of age to take admission in any college of du and there is no counselling for admission through merit base.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The first reason to choose this course is that I have an interest in chemistry and the second reason is that I wanted to do masters(MSc) and then PhD in chemistry. So, I decided to choose b.sc (Hons) chemistry as my Undergraduate course. I suggest to everyone, if you have much more interest in chemistry then you choose this course for your graduation. In my class, there are 54 students and two teachers for a subject. Faculty: student ratio is 1:27. All the faculty members are very educated and well qualified. Some of them are university topper. They all are like a friend and always ready to help you. This whole course is of 3 years and each year is divided into two semesters. After every 6 months, a semester exam is conducted by the university and you have to pass every semester exam. Semester exams are not typical. It totally based on your given syllabus and easy to qualify it.

Fees and Financial Aid

For my course which is b.sc (h) chemistry, fees are 14695 per annum. The fees structure of kirori mal college varies from 10000 to 18000 per annum for different courses. Every college of Delhi University provides scholarship to those students whose their family income is too good. Our college also provides scholarship to some student in the form of fees relaxation from 50% to 100% in their college fees which based on the family income of the student. Other than college scholarship, you may also apply for others scholarship to increase your chance to get a scholarship like the national scholarship portal(nsp) in which every year you get 10000 INR and inspire scholarship in which you get 60000inr per annum. For further information about the scholarship, you may visit the official website of nsp and inspire.

Campus Life

4.5

If you ask me about the best part of college life then surely my answer is annual fest. Every year colleges of Delhi university organise the annual fest. Every college brings alumni and celebrities to their annual fest. In February or March, the college organises an annual fest and it goes for a month. The college has a well furnished library with lots of books and journals. Our college always focuses on lots of extracurricular activities. From time to time college societies do extracurricular activities for ours skill enhancement and for our overall development. College time is the best time to do whatever you want, to do a lot of internships, to explore new things and to make new friends. The college has lots of societies like drama, poetry, internship, sports, etc. which helps you to find your hidden talent and to develop your skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
