Remarks

As I got my college through JOSAA counseling, I applied for almost all NITs and IIITs and some reputed GFTIs. I took this college as I want to choose a decent branch with a good college reputation and good placement records. I took admission through the OBC quota. All NIT's took admission through JOSAA counseling after qualifying JEE Mains Exam. Students are required to have atleast 75% marks(65% marks for SC/ST students) or in the top 20%ile. Students have to sit in JOSAA counseling which conducts 6-7 rounds and after that CSAB conducts two special rounds for filling of vacant seats. After allowing any branch in any college from your filled list, students have to lock their seat and have to pay seat acceptance fee of about Rs 35000. In case if anyone wants to sit in CSAB special rounds, additional Rs. 36500 have to paid. For SC/ST students, seat acceptance fee is Rs 15000 and Rs 16500 respectively. Students have to submit various documents to the finally allotted college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I am pursuing B.Tech In Civil Engineering. I took this course as since, from my childhood I was fascinated by huge buildings, monuments, towers, bridges etc., and how these structures are constructed. Also during my preparation time, my strongest subject was physics and specially in mechanics and these subjects are common in syllabus of Civil Engineering also. Faculty to Student ratio is 1:25. All faculty members hold PhD degrees from reputed colleges like IITs,. BITS and also from foreign universities.. 75% attendence criteria is must. Still some professors don't bother much until you perform good in exams. College used to conduct two minor exams of 20 marks each, 10 marks for assignment and 50 marks for end term exam. Exams are timely conducted. Studying for 15 days is enough to pass in any subject with good grades. Most students used to prepare pre-night before the exam day. Grading is done on the basis of marks. After that CGPA is alloted according to grades obtained.

For the 2019 batch, students have to pay Rs 62500 for tuition fees. Besides that additional 17000 is for admission fee, examination fee, development fee, library fee and stuffs like that. This amount is to be paid by students whose family income is greater than 5 lacs. Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.
