Remarks

Admission is conducted by jossa early by fully offline but due to the covid pandemic, it is online also. Admission is the basis on jee rank it is an affiliated University and takes good score in jee mains but the exception for state quota and category students. Min 90 percentile is required for general category students for taking admission in civil branch and it varies for state quota students it from 90 to 60 percentile.

Course Curriculum Overview

Civil Engineering is the core and oldest branch in nit Srinagar and having good faculty and labs. J&k is constructed region that's why many students from j&k choosing civil and occupied other state quotas as well. Teacher Student is also good after the new recruitment of teachers in 2021. Exams are good for an average student also.

Internships Opportunities

Nowadays there are several companies visit in campus and offered online internship but students generally preferred offline internship for civil max students from j&k visit Delhi Chandigarh region for internship.

Placement Experience

After 3 rd year, you can sit on placement but there is less placement in the civil branch but there is a good offer for cs, it,ece students. But all are placed off campus if you have potential. In the civil branch one time a 54 lakh placement is done.

Fees and Financial Aid

Annual fees are about 1.4 lac for general category students with above 5 lac income. And 60k for 1-5 lac per annual income students while 6k for sc/st as well as for below 1 lac per annum income students. There is scholarship also for category students.

Campus Life

There are several clubs are running on campus but most of them are inactive but 1-2 are active l think the India team is also on the campus. The major sport is cricket. Football, basketball, badminton, tt, volleyball, kabbadi, gym etc are available on the campus. there is a central library with modern facilities.

Hostel Facilities

There are different hostels according to batches. Newly built hostels are well equipped with jio fibre, study table, almirah, boxbed, clean washroom. Every hostel has its own mess with good serving staff and good quality food is served. there is simple registration for hostels. But outskirts are not preferred by students for accommodation because of valley situation but on campus, there is a beautiful view and environment no worries.

NIT Sringar is beautiful!!

Placement Experience:

Marshal the placement resources so well that our college has close to 90% placement records. Siemens, ABB and such companies where ECE engineers can contribute are the companies that hires us and the average for our ECE branch is 6 lakhs or so.

Is Nit Srinagar worth it?

Placement Experience:

Yes my college offers placements for each branch students becomes eligible after sixth semester if they doent have any active supply in there course and very company have their own criteria to make eligble to the student for placements like cgpa etc. companies visited in civil was L&T, Tata steel, Jsw, Afcon etc and the average package was 6 lakh every company brought diffrent no. of offers average was 5 in civil highest package got to mine class crc of 1300000 that was a psu and the percentage of students got placed was 10% only. mine plans after was to prepare for goverments exams.

There are in campus placements in our university. Students become eligible for the same from 7th semester. Companies like IBM, AMAZON, WIPRO, INFOSYS, DELOITTE, CGEGG, HONDA, NTPC, ACCENTURE are the top recruiters. The highest package was of 36.5 LPA and the average is 11.5LPA in the year 2023. Our institute has a placement call, and it helps the students acquire jobs in the industry. Many top companies like Wipro, L and T, and NVIDIA visit our campus, and it provides jobs in every field from Information Tech. to Material-related jobs. Here job opportunities are for every branch. Recently in one day 30-40 students got placed at an average package of 10 LPA. Most of the opportunities are for CSE and IT students as it goes for every institute and some companies like GAIL, and IOCL. BARC gives internship opportunities to chemical branches too. The core branches like Electrical and Mechanical also perform well in the placements. From the 7th semester, placement opportunities are given to the students. Highest package 40 LPA and median package 10 LPA.

Nit Srinagar the heaven

Admission:

First apply for jee mains exam and get a rank under 50000 and also minimum 75% marks in 12th exam and you have only three attempt to qualify jee mains exam if you clear the cutoff so you also eligible for jee advance exam for the admission in IIT

Remarks:

The university is situated in the Trikuta foothills and is 80 km away from the main Jammu city so one has to bear that because everything is not available sometimes. Electricity is 24×7 and the weather is awesome.

Is Nit Srinagar worth it?

I got this college on the basis of councellign held after jee main result before this i got Natinal institue of technology Megalya i left that beacuse of non permanent hostel facility and bad reviews from the seniors and the distance from mine hoemtown sikar(Rajasthan) even many good engineerig colleges was there in mine list but because of mine less marks in jee main and advance i am unable to get them (example : nit silchar, nit Wrangle, nit Trichy etc) but over all mine college was good according to Enviroment conditions and other parameters and the admission process was very smooth just you have to verify your documents ....Read More

As we all know that the B.Tech course is of four years and divided into eight semesters. It is offereed across 8 different specialisations including /cse, /ee, ECE, MEC, META, CIVIL, IT /cHE . The course admission is done on the basis of candidate's performance in JEE Main followed by JOSSA counselling/CSAB counselling. The allotment is donw on the basis of merit score in Je/e Main. The Eligibility Criteria is that the candiddate must qualify JEE Main and score above 75% marks in 12th.
