Remarks

I applied for LakshamiBai College situated on the north campus of DU itself. But later when I waited for 3rd cut off I realized that my aggregate % required for admission in DU was falling into my category so I took my admission into this college. I didn't apply for any kind of quota so far. The admission criteria depend upon your aggregate percentage of the best four subjects including one language subject. The University releases the % for every respective course and for every college. Age is not a barrier only your academic qualifications matter the most especially your best four subjects percentage of 12th class. I took admission in 3rd cut-off. There was no counseling from the university staff member as such. Every week University released the respective percentages for respective cut-offs. If you find your aggregate percentage falling into that cut-off percentage then you can apply for your course by filling the form at the university site.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I have chosen the course as I want to pursue my future career in this language only. For my subject, we have two teachers for each section for core papers (Two sections in my course, i.e. in total four teachers). Apart from this, we have one teacher for AECC and GE. The teachers are well qualified here. We find our doubts getting solved as early as possible. The best thing I liked about this college is: the teachers are friendly, and they care for the students like their own family members. I have given the first sem till date and it was easy to appear for the exam as it was OBE and even the paper was easy to understand. The mode of the examination is cool.

Internships Opportunities

4

Eigo paathshala: Digital marketing, Finance, English and Hindi teacher, HR, Software Developer. The stipend was upto 25k. Decoracion Digital Marketing services: Digital Marketing, Business Development Manager. The stipend was upto 1k for two months. And there were many companies with best-provided stipends.

Placement Experience

4.5

From the first semester, students can apply for internships. but for the placement being a 3rd-year student is a compulsory. Many reputed companies visited our college campus for conducting internships and placement fairs such as WhiteHat Jr., Accenture, ShareKhan, and so on. The maximum package received was 12 lakhs p.a. for placement and avg. The package lies in the range of 5-6 lakhs p.a. Many students qualify themselves for the placement. Among the registered students, 55%of them get selected for the final selected students. I want to pursue a Doctorate of Philosophy in English only.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees in this college are literally so nominal that even a middle-class family could afford it so well. Students appear for scholarships too over here but I am not aware of it more as appearing for scholarships was not my concern at that time. The college even offers placement and internships by inviting companies to its campus. The whole work is managed by the DEDICATED placement cell of DRC.

Campus Life

3.5

I am doing my course through an online mode due to this pandemic so I can't rate the campus as such., but yes If I talk about the online study...DRC is the college which will give you the satisfactory education through this mode.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
