NIT Warangal, BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY [B.TECH]
Reviewed on Apr 21, 2021(Enrolled 2015)

Remarks

After completing my schooling, I decided that I want to pursue B.Tech in CSE and for that I started looking for institutes that'll be good for me and from everyone, I got to know that NIT Warangal would be the best place as the program records 100% placement opportunities after the completion of the program. Also, it turned out to be the most opted course of the institute. Hence, to join the college, I applied here through the online portal of the website and for that I paid an application fee of INR 1600.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum of my BTech program imparted total quality education to develop innovative, entrepreneurial and ethical future professionals fit for globally competitive environment by allowing stake holders to share our reservoir of experience in education and knowledgefor mutual enrichment in the field of technical education. Also, here we had more than 300 faculties working on permanent and temporary basis with various departments. Among which, around 80% of the faculty have completed their PhD and published their research papers with the institute.

Placement Experience

4.5

My college has a Centre for Career Planning and Development that aids campus recruitment and invites companies from the field of software, core industries, management, etc. Placements here are very good with above 90% and with an average package of 10-12 lakhs per annum and salary offer has gone as high as INR 43 LPA. Some of the top recruiters who visited the campus for the placements were- Adobe Ltd., Oracle India Private Limited, SAP Labs, Amazon, Accenture, Jio, Capgemini, Loreal, VMware India, Black Buck, Morgan Stanley, Samsung R&D Institute, Citi Bank, Mahindra, Microsoft, and etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee of NIT Warangal for my BTech program was around INR 1.3 lacs per year and for my whole program, I was charged INR 5.2 lacs and this amount included general and hostel caution deposit, along with facility charges. I paid the fee in installments, and we were also given the opportunity for various financial assistance offered by the college and they provided us hands-on skills to gain the most exposure.

Campus Life

4

My campus life here at NIT Warangal was very enjoyable. It offered an amazing environment in terms of studies, infrastructure, and last but not the least, fun & enjoyment too. The institute has a well-developed infrastructure and provides facilities such as engineering and maintenance unit, motor transport section, canteen, post office, shopping complex, sports facilities etc. that helped in enhancing our college life. Several clubs were also available such as Value Education Club, Literary and Debating Club, Web and Software Development Cell, etc. that helped us in honing our skills and excelling in extracurricular activities which was very much required for our overall personality development.

Hostel Facilities

4

The Institute has excellent residential facilities for us as there are twenty hostel blocks (halls of residence) for men and two for women. Overall, the hostel facilities are quite good with very good rooms.

Admission

Personal Interview was the final admission round that I had to pass to get in the program. In the PI, the panelists judged me on the basis of my communication skills, reasoning ability, organization skills, personality and my English fluency. They also asked me question related to general knowledge and current affairs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
