A Standard Engineering College

This college is AICTE & COA approved, NAAC accredited and MAKAUT (WBUT) affiliated. Communication is very well. The college situated beside the NH- 6 and closed to the Birshibpur Station (SE Rly). Pleasant environment, Hostel and own transport buses available. The course fee is reasonable, Classroom, Office room, Library, Toilets are neat and clean. Laboratories and workshops are well equipped. All teachers and staff are helpful and familiar, study materials are always available. A cheap canteen facility is available. The only risk is involved with crossing over the NH-6. The admission process is very easy and has no hide condition. I prefer the college for all the above reasons. I have selected this college from the list of the W.B.JEE Board.

I have chosen this course as I have passed a Diploma in Mechanical Engg. There are Faculty: Student ratio is 1:20 in this college. Regarding qualification of the faculties, all of them are Master Degree holder and most of they are pursuing PhD and their teaching method is technically sound, syllabus oriented and illustrated. They conduct exams accordingly to the guidelines of MAKAUT. As I attend the classes sincerely and our teachers explain every topic minutely, I seem it will be easy for me to score very well in the exam.

Since we are going through a Covid-19 pandemic situation, we are continuing online classes and also online exams, there is no scope to do any practical work, project work etc. for a long time, so the internship also hampered obviously for the situation. As far I come to know, the internship opportunity offered by this college after completion of the 3rd year.

Now, I am studying in my 2nd year (Mechanical Engineering). As far I come to know that the college offers job opportunity through campus interview from the 6th semester of 4 years degree course and many leading companies such as TATA, L&T, SIEMENS, Infosys, Innocraft, Hero, Mphosis, Genpact, Cerner, CGI, Pinnacle, TVS, CMS, etc. come to recruit the students as per their requirements. According to the record, I think the placement of this college is moderate, i.e. 50% -60% students get this opportunity every year. Companies pay salary package as per their norms.

The fees Structure of this College for Mechanical Engineering (lateral) is Rs. 50,000 only. As far I know, the college offers a merit-based scholarship and also assist to get the "Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship". For the student having 75% marks in H.S. or Diploma. The college offers, job opportunity through campus interview from the 6th semester and the placement is moderate as found in the previous record.

The college conducts Annual Sports, Re-Union, Annual Social, Tech. Fest once in a year and Seminar once or twice in a year in the month of January- February. Alumnus is also invited to these programmes. In addition to these, students can play Football, Cricket, Volleyball etc. in the playground within the campus. There is a Common Room in this College with the arrangement of the Carrom Board, Table Tennis, Chess Board etc. for playing. Except these, events like Teacher's Day, College Foundation Day, Fresher's, Farewell etc. are also celebrated here. Books are available of all subjects for all allied streams in this College. The college library has a huge collection of over 13,000 volumes comprising of text and reference books and also subscribing to more than 60 journals. There are sufficient classrooms in this College, all class rooms are neat & clean and well decorated. Students and faculty members are share information through all usual means and have good communication with each other.

The college has comprehensive hostel facilities for boys and girls separately in a pleasant ambience inside the college campus. Two or three students can stay in each room. 24 hours power supply, Generator, Aqua guard water filter and also wi-fi facility are available in the hostel. There is a TV hall, TT hall, Gym etc. for the recreation of students. Availablity 24x7 hours special security, First-Aid and emergency medical support, housekeeping etc. The college canteen serves good quality food which caters to all regional Indian cuisines for variety and taste. Hostel facility alloted to the students on a first-come-first-served basis.

I didn't face any Group discussion, Interview or Written test for admission. I ranked 3613 in JELET 2020 under WBJEE Board. I, therefore, admitted smoothly to this College. The criteria for admission in B.Tech is H.S. (Sc.) / Diploma pass.
