Remarks
I come to know about this college from one of my mother's friends. My choosing criteria for that college was faculty and their way of teaching. No doubt the faculty is qualified and always chooses good methods for teaching. My admission was based on a Personal Interview, which was taken by a team of 5 members i.e. the HOD of the department, the most senior faculty of my branch, and senior faculties of other branches. As I have not taken the JEE exam so they took PI. My registration was done in the month of May and PI was taken in the last week of June. I got the e-mail for admission in mid of July. I prefer this college over other colleges because I like the faculty, there is peacefulness near the University, and it is a University, not a college so it gave me a lot of exposure to many things. I reviewed many websites and blogs before choosing this college but I also enquired about many students and other persons living near the University.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because it is a technical degree, very much worth taking for your career. After doing this, you can choose any type of career, either Teaching, Banking, Corporate, or even you can switch to a different stream for Masters. After the first year, every faculty will get 6-7 students as their mentor, so you easily get to know the student ratio. Every year college will recruit new faculties also. I like their way of teaching, they are very much cooperative, they not only help you only in studies but also if you have other problems they can help you too. But they are very much strict in the examination marking scheme. All the faculty members are well qualified, even some of them are from IITs and other reputed universities. There are two exams for every semester, i.e. Mid-Sem and Comprehensive, and practicals that will be taken both the time. Both the exams have a gap of 1 and a half months or two months. They are neither tough nor easy, that depends upon you.
Internships Opportunities
I have opted for training in the second and third year rather than the company work. In the final year, I am doing an Internship in the field of Web Designing from The Benpour Technologies Pvt. Ltd. from Dehradun. There is no stipend that the company is paying. As there is a time of the pandemic so it would be difficult for finding the Internships but the faculty has helped a lot in finding the IPs. I am working on building websites using Coding Languages as well as Frameworks.
Placement Experience
Firstly, the placement depends on you. If you are qualified then you get selected. Now, if we talk about College Placement. The college will provide INternship as well as placement for students of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year. The students become eligible for placement from the third year. Even college gives chance to the students of the third year to sit during the placement. There are many companies that visit our campus for the placements like Codestore, Accenture, Assurgent Solution Technology, Nihilent Technology, and many more. The highest package was 18 lakhs per annum. If we talk about the percentage of students who got placement then I would say focus on the knowledge because for appearing in the placement drive student needs above 6 CGPA. And after that company will only check your knowledge and skills. I am not going to apply to any company for the job because I am looking towards a Master's.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is good because you get the chance of scholarships. There are different scholarships. You will get a scholarship on the basis of your 12th percentage, also based on your semester CGPA( only 10% of students will get this). You will get the scholarship based on a percentage of 12th for 8 semesters ( if you maintain a CGPA of 6) and also the same for the scholarship based on CGPA (but if you maintain CGPA). The fee structure is different for Domicile and Non-Domicile. The hike in fees is not very much. You can also take financial help (loan) from the banks.
Campus Life
Life at The ICFAI University is quite good. There is an annual fest every year. Last year, there was a fest named UTSAV which was held for three days. There were sports, dance, and some other curricular and technical activities also. There were activities likes doodling competition, poster making, debates, rangoli, face painting, cricket, badminton, kho-kho, volleyball and many more. There are many books related to my course in the library. The books are written by very well and qualified authors. Also, faculty will provide the pdf of every book related to their subject. There are many sports and sports tournaments held on the campus, like Cricket, badminton, volleyball, football, and basket. There are societies on the campus also, like Cultural Group and the Campus-to-Corporate Club. Both the clubs worked a lot during each and every occasion. Besides this, there are some groups like decoration, stage handling and discipline committee, which work during every event.
Hostel Facilities
I opted for the facility throughout my college. The hostel is 200metres away from the University. I opted for the single-seater room. There is Wi-Fi, laundry, and a sweeper facility. There is also a generator back up there. The hostel is fully secured, there is always a guard on the gate. The meal is okay not good. I have registered for the hostel during my admission process. There is also some other PGs nearby campus that is very much affordable for anyone.
Interview Experience
I faced only PI, conducted by 5 faculty members. The questions were simple, some of them were logic-based but easy. The questions were mostly from the Science and Maths of 9th to 12th standard. The pattern was easy to moderate. I think if you have studied in your school, you will clear the Personal Interview. They will also ask questions to check your mental level. For PI, I have just studied the basics from 9th-12th. And also some tips for maintaining the posture and gesture, so that they can easily assess me from my personality. Study the basics, formulas of Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. And also the branch you have opted for, like for CSE, just read out the basics if you know about Computers. If you don't know anything about it, it is also okay, they won't bother you about that.
Other Applied Colleges
Lovely Professional University | B.Tech
I didn't get good reviews about the environment around the campus.
