Remarks
I chose Hansraj College because it's one the best colleges of not only Delhi university but it is one of the best colleges in India. The admission was merit-based so being a 98.6% holder I had no problem in getting into this esteemed college. I preferred this college over the others due to the following reasons: best college of Delhi university in the North campus. The infrastructure of the college is very very good and fascinating. The teachers here are so helpful and encouraging. The commerce faculty of the college is the best. The college fests and functions are some of the best on the North campus. Although it is one of the best colleges, still it has some bad aspects like: the attendance requirement is very high. The teachers are a bit strict. The workload is very heavy.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose B.Com Hons. because I'm a student of commerce background and I have a deep interest in this field. Choosing B.Com Hons at this level would surely do me good in future. The exams were online and we didn't have any trouble in giving the exams because we were well trained by the faculty beforehand.
Placement Experience
The placement percentage of our college is around 60-70%. The highest salary package offered in our course was 18 LPA, and it was provided by Amazon India in the year 2016. The lowest salary package offered was 5 LPA, and it was provided by Tata Consultancy. The top recruiting companies of our course are Amazon, Flipkart, Samsung, Micromax, Tata Consultancy and TCS. About 40% of the students got internships in companies like Unitech, Nimbus and Tata Consultancy. Top roles are offered in accounting and auditing, tax advisory services and commercial banking.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of our college are very low and really affordable. The fee for the year is 20,500. The fees for the whole course is around 60,000. Although there is some reduction in fees for the weaker section of the society. The reserved category of the students also enjoys some benefits.
Campus Life
The annual fest of Hansraj college is Confluence. It's a 4-day event that has all the makings of a hit fest — dance, drama and fun. It's generally celebrated in the month of January. Out of the various competitions held on the college grounds, two that really got the crowd applauding were the street play and the choreography competition. The dramatisation of social issues like child sexual abuse, dowry and gender issues had everyone gripped to the show.
