It is an integral part of the Techno India Group. It holds up a good student-faculty relationship. It has various curricular as well as extra curricular events for the students and faculty.The location is a bit far off within the outskirts of the city. Its around 30 to 45 mins from the main city when travelled by a bus.

As engineering students we follow the syllabus of MAKAUT. The academic session is divided in to semesters. Being a 4 year course it has 8 semesters with 40+ subjects in the curriculum. The college stands within the top 100 colleges in India with a rank of 91 as of 2018. The college has 4 core departments Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering and BioTechnology. Each department has an individual intake of 60 students. The institution has a sex ratio of 5:1 as a whole. The faculties in the college is highly experienced with a back up of new teachers teaching under them. Each department has a Head known as the HOD. Most of the teachers have a Masters in their respective fields while some have a Bachelors degree with a ton of experience behind them. Faculties also have PhD in the respective fields and are an integral part of the institution. Teachers have different styles and ways of teaching. The fact that most of the teachers have their first language as Bengali tend to prefer their native language while explaining a certain topic. It might be a little tough for someone who doesn't speak or understand Bengali but the faculty are always in to help them in whichever way possible. The college has a semester exam every 6 months and within those 6 months there are 2 unit tests for the grading of the internal 30 marks of the subject. If a student attends the class regularly and makes an effort from his side its not going to be tough for him to score more than 80%.

Our college has a tie up with some of the tech giants of the nations. Recruiters include Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, Capgemini, L&T and many others. Most of these companies look for students who have a sound knowledge in the recent technology stack and a preferred programming language to create a base for these technologies. The highest package received by an individual is 12 lakhs per annum who was selected for a renowned multi national company. More than 60 % of the students get placed in the on campus while 8% to 12% of them opt for a Masters or a opt for a research wing.

The college has 2 buildings. One has the BioTech department as a whole while all the others are merged to the other building. The college has a football ground right next to it. It also has a room for extra curricular activities such as carrom and table tennis. The institution has an annual sports event which is a 2 day event with various activities. They also have an annual cricket and football tournament. It is an intra college event which lasts around 15 days each. BIT also has various clubs for the freshers to learn something different from the course but related to their stream. These clubs are led by the seniors of the college under the supervision of the HOD. The aim of these clubs is to make the students industry ready with all the latest stacks and technologies.
