Remarks
The first reason why I chose this college was the crowd. People score soaring high cut-offs to take admission in this college and the crowd is definitely very hardworking which could lead to a big impact on a person's life. Secondly, the great alumni base and the beautiful campus area did influence me to take admission here. Admission was done online. Du released a form even before the announcement of the 12th board results and later on after announcing the results, cut-offs were released and we just had to apply wherever we were eligible. Quora, college dunia, shiksha ,collegedekho etc were the sources to find out information The faculty, infrastructure, and the placement cell were the main reason for preferring this college over others.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am a commerce student and I aim to pursue finance and so BCom Hons was the best option for me. There are about 85 students in my class and 4 teachers are there. Teachers are great here, they thoroughly clear our doubts and also provide us with notes. They are very patient with us since this online mode of teaching is a little frustrating. Exams are held after every 4-5 months. they aren't very difficult.
Internships Opportunities
There is a separate internship cell at Hansraj run by students which keeps providing information about all off or on-campus internships. They have a stipend of 5000-10000 per month, based on students' performance. Role of the financial writer, business development, executive assistant, human resources, etc is offered. ABL workspace,Finkore education, yuno learning, etc are some companies offering internships.
Placement Experience
Students after 3rd semester can apply for placements. The placement cell at Hansraj is a student-run body headed by teacher convenors who work towards the common goal of getting all students placed in various companies. About 70% of students get placed every year. The best package is about 8 lac per annum.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee was around 20k p.a and I don't think this is a very big amount. This may be a little costlier than other DU colleges but then the infrastructure is also great. Apart from that, Hansraj doesn't have a girls hostel so people coming from far have to spend a big amount of money on their food and accommodation which makes it almost equivalent to private college fees.
Campus Life
Confluence is the fest which is held every year. Apart from that, every society has its separate fests. I am in dance society and we had its fest ' taal tarang' this year in online mode. I don't have an idea regarding the availability of books, classrooms, etc since I have attended only online classes till now.
