Remarks

Nmit is among the top ten best colleges in Bangalore. Here, students are from various backgrounds and cultures, almost from all corners of India and outside. The quality of infrastructure and faculty has been upto the mark and i have seen it grow much more just in the past 1 year. Placements have been quite decent for all courses. The clubs and fests are totally engaging. Also, hostels and mess are quite good compared to other colleges at this cost. In my point of view, there is no downsides of this college.Comedk has 3 rounds of counseling.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose electronics since its more related to what's inside of gadgets and the base of it, which is very helpful for future developments. Faculty for this course, is highly experienced and always ready to support its pupil. In class we have teacher: student ratio of 1: 10. We have 3 internals and one final semester exam for each sem. Its not that difficult just can refer few books from library and you will be done.

College Events

We have annual fest called Anaadyanta. It is very huge and our college is popular for its fashion shows and tech fests. Its a 3 day fest including technical and other games and competitions. All classrooms have digital screens. There various clubs like ecell, clubs for different dance forms, sports club, music, drama, literature, art, fashion, and many other technical clubs.

Campus Life

4.5

There is sports area or grounds for football, cricket, basketball, throwball, volleyball, hockey. Indoor and outdoor areas for badminton. Entire campus is facilitated with wifi. There are 2 common libraries and separate libraries for individual branches. There are numerous labs made specifically for a project. Research labs are available too.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The rooms are quite comfortable and neat. For boys its either 2 or 4 per room. For girls its 2 per room. All basic facilities like- gym, study halls, indoor and outdoor games, washing area for clothes, cafeteria and shops, atm and temple are provided. Mess has a fixed weekly menu. Its quite satisfactory to the price.

Students become elegible for placements from 7th sem onwards but we are encouraged to do internship before final itself. Most of the companies that come here aren't t1 or even t2. Highest probably would be 12L only if the student is exceptional but most would secure a package 4-6. And the percentage of students getting placed is <50%

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Mtech Thermal Engineering because I was interested in thermal subjects like Fluid mechanics, Heat transfer, CFD. The Curriculum is pretty decent and it does covers the fundamentals and advanced topics of the particular subject but it could be better in terms of imparting practical and industrial knowledge. The exams that are held in NITK are competitive and requires a good understanding of the subject. You simply cannot cram and get good marks in exam. You have to know the proper implementation of that particular formula or theory.
