Remarks

I chose this college since I was able to get admission with merit in the cut-off list I’m Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women. The college is a part of Delhi University. The infrastructure is nice. It is located at a convenient distance from my place. The location is very happening and this will ensure a fun-filled college life.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is interesting. Most of it is a detailed version of what we have already studied in high school (class11 &12). The teachers are nice. However, because of the pandemic, we have online classes which are a bit boring. There is one teacher for each subject for a class of 102 students. Can’t wait for college to reopen so that I can experience my college life.

Placement Experience

I plan to be a part of a nice big company that provides me a good salary. The placements really just depend on the skill set of students. Last year 70% students got placed with highest salary offered to be 14 lacs and lowest being 3lacs.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since this is a government college the fee is minimal. The course costs only 10015 per year which makes the full course cost 30045. This fee has been fixed keeping in mind that all students will be able to pay it. It is very affordable.

Campus Life

I have not experienced life at the campus as of now due to the pandemic. The annual festival's name is srijan. It is a feat wherein all students show their talent. It is fun-filled and very interesting to be a part of. Since the college is online, I haven’t taken part in any sports or other activities.

Underrated College of DU!

Placement Experience:

Students from 3rd year onwards may sit for placements. There are several companies visiting our college for placements, such as Zomato, Tech Mahindra, EY, MagicPin, etc. My plans after getting the degree personally include pursuing a PG degree.

The course curriculam is well-structured and covers all the core subject relevant to the field . It help in building strong theroritcial knowledge but lacks enough real-world case studies and industry exposure . Exam are conducted regularly and are of moderate difficulty . When students enter 3rd year of their college , they are eligible to sit for placements but should have minimum 8 CGPA .A lot of companiess visit campus , details of companies are on the website of college.The highest placement till now is 20 Lakhs per Annum and average goes around 6-7 Lakhs per Annum. A decent percentage of students get placed. Honestly most students here are pursuing professional courses so they don't sit for placements instead continue with their courses .

Why DU has the best college life

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that great but decent. Mostly placements are good in the north campus but still my college provides decent placements. However one has to maintain their academic score for the same and be consistent.

SPMCW is Special!!

I applied at colleges such as LSR and Gargi purely because they were also girls colleges and are above ranked than my college. In DU though a proper merit system works and in that merit my score couldn't get admission in those two colleges.
