Remarks

College needs to focus more on the development and placement part for the science field specially. More of research oriented schemes and funds should be raised. Interdisciplinary coursework needs to be addressed.

Entrance Preview

I was been a part of college for past 7 years including my HSC, B.Sc and M.Sc(Microbiology). For admission their are no exams that need to be given. It's all basis of merit. I opted for microbiology because i wanted to pursue in classical science.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Overall its all decided by the Mumbai University so their will be no difference in curriculum to any college other then a lil bit in practicals and internals. So if you are well worse with MU then it's fine. Masers structure lacks in the parts of research by the university but, overall in general from college its opposite. College dose have many research competition and event held for motivation and encouragement in research field.

Internships Opportunities

No internships are been provided from college. In Science no internships are been offered by college as very companies are in market need freshers and undergraduates.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement cell really works good. They are doing really well in general. Coming to Science again placement cell is weaker in that part and not able to fetch more of companies to offer good jobs. Sometimes 2 or 3 jobs do arrive and have placed people from our class.

College Events

4.5

College does have a lot of activities and events that are very well recorgnized. Kshitij is the 3rdmost famous festival in mumbai amongst college fest. Even department organizes some of the events like saptparni, Kala Mela an art exhibition, Focus photography competition.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For Aided courses its quite cheep and for unaided its almost in thousands depending the course. For undergrad and postgraduate both its feasible fee structure. Even for FYJC and SYJC the fees the have its almost not paying any penny & free girl education.

Fees and Financial Aid

Campus Life

4.5

Gender ration boys to girls in some subjects is like1:10 and over all its 50-60% throughout the college. Very diverse group of student come to college from all strata of society and no inequality is seen. No social issue with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status can be seen. College is very strict with respect to that.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel facility includes two full fledged hostels and three rented residential accommodations (taken care of by the University itself) in Mumbai, separately for boys and girls. The students admitted (on first come first serve basis; preference is given to students from outside of Mumbai to the hostel are entitled to stay in the hostel during the academic session only and are required to vacate the rooms during the summer vacations for maintenance work. Students are provided with all necessary facilities in the hostel along with some value added services. Hostel fee may change each year. Students are treated to good quality, affordable food in the hostel messes This ensures that food is the least of the worries of the budding managers of tomorrow.

Alumni/Alumna

The most helpful seniors and juniors we will find here. Every student is helpful regarding any particular issue raised by you. Cooperative understanding seniors you will find.

Exam Structure

As again its all patterns are designed by MU so not to great extent it varies. Yes college is strict with exams and related stuff. It focuses on theory and practicals both to same extent. Lab-work is fairly chilled. One can learn and have fun at same time.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty is definitely very well qualified. All the teachers at degree college are doctorate and expert in their own subject. Very helpful at personal and professional levels. The experience that teachers have is exceptional. But in some year the experienced faculty may be retiring so that need to be consider.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements do not occur after completion of course. However, since you are a pass out from this premier institute, you have an edge above others while securing jobs. Also during your course tenure, you are encouraged by the faculty and guide to participating in lots of research activities. That too adds plus point to your resume.

Administration is horribly managed and dependent on one person. The head is not very involved. Most of The staff is incompassionate. It is a frustating and unhealthy environment for most students. But it teaches us a lot including self reliance, hard work and insane management and coping skills.
