Remarks

Administration is horribly managed and dependent on one person. The head is not very involved. Most of The staff is incompassionate. It is a frustating and unhealthy environment for most students. But it teaches us a lot including self reliance, hard work and insane management and coping skills.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Course curriculum is superb but how it is implemented is very poor. Syllabus is barelt completed in most of the subjects every year. You are kind of on your own when it comes to studies. Faculties lack the time and motivation to actually see properly to the academic part. Research driven in the true sense it is not. As it is a government low cost service providing hospital it is submerged in patients all through the year so it sort of becomes the focal point i. e serving patients your education and training kinda takes a back seat. Faculty to student ratio is very very poor and it is only getting worse as the years go by. But one thing is if you are dedicated enough this place has enough pateints to make you a good clinician.

Placement Experience

2.5

There are no placements as such but we usually get jobs as soon as we leave the college as the market is not yet saturated and there is a good demand for audiologists. We have a 12 month internship as a part of that course during which we get stipulated stipend. The internship is within the same institute.

College Events

2

Annual day, anual week saraswati pooja, teachers day, sports day (altough becoming nore and more irregular) other government mandates such as hindi pakhwada, mental health awareness week. Held at nominal scales. Usually boring and poorly funded and managed.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very reasonable but full amount to be paid at once. Like any government college the fees is nominal and you make up most of the fee with the internship stipend in case of bachelors masters is another story its a little more expensive than bachelors and we dont have any stipend in masters, but as compared to any private college its very less. Online payment is allowed as is cheque and dd at admission and subsequently online. Hostel fee is seperate. Breakdown is unkown.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers nothing. Some other goverment and pvt scholarships are available which csn be availed but as the course is not that popluar the number is limited.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

The hostel is bad. It used to be worse after the change of academic incharge it got better the female hostel has another wing attached to it where all sorts of boys and men attend classes. Even the girls hostel has only male security. The wardens don't stay in the hostels. You are prettty much on your own. The apathy for students is unbelievable not only in hostel related matters but in general too.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors expect certain respect and obedience which initially is very troublesome but ultimately results in good bonding. And they are the most important thing in your clinical development you may not feel that way you may not believe it but its true. They may seem mean but give them time and a good bond makes you realise a lot.

Admission

I saw its add in the newspaper I wanted to pursure something in human care apart from medical so dad suggeted this after seeing an ad. I gave the entrance and applied for its Bombay and Kolkata centres subsequently I made it into the kolkata center I was notified via a letter and the list came out online. The admission procedure was not hard I had to come down to the college and pay the entire fees at once to secure my seat. That was it. The admission procedure is not complicated.

Faculty

3

Most are unmotivated and ignorant its a 9 to 5 government job for most. Few are extraordinarily amazing. Mostly dont care about students. They are harsh and play bad politics. They expect students to foolow laws but are themselves very lawless. Higly Highly hippocratical and mean at times bring upon frustation.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements do not occur after completion of course. However, since you are a pass out from this premier institute, you have an edge above others while securing jobs. Also during your course tenure, you are encouraged by the faculty and guide to participating in lots of research activities. That too adds plus point to your resume.
