Remarks

The college comes with a tag of being one of the best colleges for humanitarian subjects in the country. When coming to college you will realise that it provides you with the exposure you need. The faculty in this college is also one of the best. Although being a little strict it is still one of the most preferred colleges in the country. The admission is based on 3 things merit + interview + aptitude test. The forms come out after DU announces its commencing of admissions after that a form has to be filled on the site of st Stephens college and then you may proceed with other steps. There is only one cutoff which ranges from 98-100 for the general category, I chose this college as it seems to have the best faculty and of course one of the best alumni who has contributed a lot to the country. From actors to IAS officers it has produced some of the best minds in the country. I researched about this college from CollegeDunia and Quora.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course as I aspire to become an IPS officer and of course it would surely add to my knowledge about the rich history of our country as well as the world. There are close to 60 people in my class. The faculty is very qualified and I feel that they truly enjoy teaching rather than just doing it for the sake of it. The exams are not really easy but this year there were open book exams so it was comparatively very easy to study for them.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The campus placement cell offers several internships in the college and you can opt for them from the first year itself. The internships come from several companies. From startup’s to reputed companies there are a lot of opportunities that come with them.

Placement Experience

5

Students can opt for internships from the first semester itself. There is a dedicated “campus placement cell“ and which send you information about internship opportunities in the college. There are some companies which visit the college for hiring and the highest package offered is 29 lakhs. I aspire to become an IPS officer after I get my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are minimal as compared to private colleges. It ranges from 20000 to 22000. There are a lot of internships opportunities and there is also a proper society called the campus placement cell which helps in providing internships. There are also a lot of scholarships which is provided by the college itself.

Campus Life

4.5

The feats are pretty good and are only people allowed in them are Stephanians. The library is pretty big and has almost every book you could wish for. The classrooms are good and air-conditioned. There are a lot of sports activities on campus and it also encourages sports. There are close to 50 societies in st Stephens college and you can join as many as you like.

Admission

Merit + interview + aptitude

Interview Experience

4.5

When you clear the cutoff you are then shortlisted for an interview and aptitude test. All of the questions asked in this are related to the course or subject that you have chosen plus some questions about why you chose the course and college. I prepared for the interview and test from my NCERT books and some other novels. Plus it always helps to ask for experiences from seniors.

Course Curriculum Overview:

British classics, Indian writing, postcolonial literature builds a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation, which are useful skills. As for comprehensiveness, the curriculum is quite broad. It covers multiple literary periods, genres, and critical theories over the three years, so you’re not really missing out on the essentials. In that sense, it feels academically complete. But sometimes, it leans more towards breadth over depth you move quickly from one topic to another.

Placement Experience:

There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The curriculum was overall good and being a economics honours courses it was challenging at times. The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.
