Remarks

College is overall good but if you are inclined towards study only, this is not the college for you as usual College times re the best time.

Entrance Preview

I appeared for kerala entrance and scored a total of 600/960 for the entrance. I always had an interest in going for mechanical engineering since that was my dad's field and I grew up witnessing the opportunities in the field. It's a vast field which is a basic for a lot of other courses and research.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course consists of 8 semesters and 56 subjects. The course primarily focuses on various subjects from a variety of fields. From first year to final year we go through different kinds of tests and experiments to reach the level of an engineer. Basic practicals are there for first year, from where it gets pretty tough. Final year has seminars along with project in the final sem. There are subjects from civil, mechanical, automobile engineering, Fluid mechanics, Propulsion engineering, and management.

Internships Opportunities

Yes college helps the students to get in to various industries and Ltd companies to do their internship. With the recommendations from a renowned college like Tkm, most of the companies are willing to accept us.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are good for computer science or it students. Most of the companies are IT or CS based companies Mechanical students can also sit for the interviews and if they are selected can go to the respective companies. But it won't do any good since they are not core mechanical companies. The companies coming to the college are : Q burst : package 3 lakh, Accenture : package 5 lakh, TCS : package 2.4 lakh.

College Events

4

Tkm is rich in case of cultural and technical fests. Even though the management only gives away a mere 25000 rs for fest, the students due to their handwork obtains sponsorship from various organizations. Cultural fests such as Rithu is famous all over kerala and the tech fest such as Tezoro is original. Conjura is one of the most anticipated fest in the history of Engineering colleges.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure is very low when compared to the other management colleges of kerala. The fees is divided into each semesters for convenience. We have to pay a total of mere 6000rs as a fees in each sem. The exam fees is excluded from this. But exam fees as a total only comes around 2000 rupees. This is in fact a relief for the students from lower economy.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, there are various kinds of scholarships available for brilliant students. Alumni scholarships and Islamic scholarships for students are available. Apart from that the professors aid students in their respective religion.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life in Tkm rocks. Gender ratio is about 40:60 W:M. Mechanical doesn't have any girls almost every time. There are various workshop sessions arranged by IEEE and other associations. Students from all over India and even international students study in Tkm. Most of the out of kerala students are from North Eastern states. Pupil from Nigeria and other countries are also there. There ain't any racism in Tkm. Majority of students here are Muslims and the management has a biased attitude towards them. They are given special scholarships and forced conversion in to Islam can be found here and there, but not so in an alarming rate to worry. Women empowerment cells are present for protecting the interests of women. SFI is the ruling party here.

Hostel Facilities

3

There are mainly 3 hostels officially for college. They are, Annex 5 which is beside college, Golden which is only for the brilliant and students who have a good grip in management, Soumya more or like Annex. The food is somewhat since the students decide the food. But the water is always dirty and spreads horrible diseases like hepatitis every year.

Alumni/Alumna

The college seniors may at first seem rude and most of the juniors go through some kind of ragging. But as we grows up, we learn that, those were fun. Seniors help juniors with study materials and projects. They even refer and entrepreneurs in them provides job opportunities for us. There is a respectable alumni in Tkm.

Exam Structure

Exams were frequent imagine writing university exams for 56 subjects in four years. No, it doesn't end there. The exam spree goes on from first year to final year there are two series for each subject. That means 56*2 one hundred and twelve exams. Along with it there are assignments and records. Yes, B.Tech is one of the most hectic courses that you can opt for.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of the college is one of the best in kerala. Everyone Is willing to help the students and Teachers who guides us through the projects try their level best to make you think and act. Most of the time the practical department staffs are available and they will guide you through various practical sessions to perform better in the practicals. Mechanical HD is as usual one of the best in the college and he is friendly towards the pupil.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
