Remarks

The Institution has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities, and resource equipment that are important and vital for extracurricular activities as well as for academics. Classroom and laboratory facilities are at walking distance from hostels and overall the campus is decent. A great aspect of the college is its location as the quiet environment makes it very suitable for studies. The Admission process is very convenient as Manipal conducts its admission process in all its three branches which are located in Manipal, Jaipur and Sikkim so that students do not have to travel long distances. I happened to choose this college as it was very close to my hometown and also because of its existing reputation in East India.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I studied Mechanical Engineering because I was always very passionate about the engineering involved in all kind of machines and wanted to explore the world of machines. The college helped me in every way possible through its intense curriculum and high facility workshops. The faculty-student ratio is optimum in both academics as well as in other laboratories and workshops. This encourages students to work on extracurricular projects as the lab assistants are always available to provide a helping hand. Students never face any problems regarding faculty as the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Every Semester there are two sessional exams and apart from that, there are regular quiz exams. The marks of each exam count and contribute to the overall percentage in the semester exams. This way students are always up to date in their studies and have to be regular in studies in order to secure a good grade in the semester exams.

Placement Experience

4

The students become eligible for placement during the end of the third year. This period often involves placement training for the upcoming interviews and standardized tests for individual companies. The placement is quite good for students from computer science and IT department and companies such as Dell, Wipro, TCS, Capgemini, Ericson pay their visits. Other than that company like Siemens, L&T, Wells Fargo also visit to hire students from the Mechanical and Civil department but there is a lot of room for improvements for placements for Mechanical and Civil engineering students. As per my knowledge, the highest package was around 15 lakhs and the lowest package was around 3.8 lakhs. A great percentage of students get placed from Computer science, Electronics and communications and IT department by the end of the final year. As I was always dreamed of working as a mechanical engineer I was successful in acquiring a job in Sun Pharma Laboratories Ltd. after graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees do increase as per the increase in facilities at the College Campus. The total cost I had to afford was around 12 lakhs which includes fees, hostel fees and other expenses. These fees are often helped by financial assistance provided by the institution to bright students who have a good overall percentage in board exams. Campus jobs were hard to find during my college tenure and the college does need to work on that factor in the near future.

Campus Life

4

The life inside the campus is always very lively. There are fests that are conducted by every department of the college on a regular basis and apart from these monthly fests, there is an annual fest called Kalrav that is held every year. These fests give the student the opportunity to showcase their skills in various types of sports, singing, dancing, Photography etc. Coming to the college infrastructure the college has libraries, studying halls and the availability of books are in abundance that includes both technical as well as literature. The classrooms are well maintained and are provided with projectors for presentation purposes. Moreover, there is a separate arena for sports that supports almost all indoor games and as far as outdoor games are concerned there is the availability of free space and fields. The overall social life is good as there is a number of clubs that students can be a part of and help improve their community skills.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel facilities are decent, the rooms are provided with wardrobe, beds, study tables. The rooms are well maintained by the staff and properly cleaned on a regular basis. The food quality of the mess is average in weekdays and descent during weekends. The menu includes breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. The hostel is affordable and registration can be done during the admission process or also can be done later depending upon the availability.

I do not have much idea about this field. If I'm not wrong internships begin from 2nd to 3rd year itself, and placements from 4th year. The avergae package here is around 6 LPA, and the highest package offered is 56 LPA. That'll be all from side.
