Remarks

Amity University Kolkata(AUK) in spite of being a private university, provides world-class education and is among one of the very few colleges in India to start a B.Tech AI program. Amity University has a global approach and given its vast community can provide much more exposure than other universities in the league. To enroll yourself in the program you can go to their website and fill the application form and appear for Amity-JEE subsequently or you may directly contact the admission cell for more details. If admission on the basis of merit they have scholarship schemes too that need to be checked while applying. My personal reason to choose AUK above others is the course offered and its highly qualified faculty. For more details about the college and their approach you can visit their own website.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Artificial Intelligence is one of the most promising and upcoming fields. Students equipped with such advanced technology and a qualified degree from an esteemed institute on the same is more likely to make a better future. The teacher student ratio being around 1:26 fosters an interactive atmosphere convenient for the students. The faculties here are mostly Ph.D. holders and extremely helpful. They are open to any kind of doubts you have and will try to help you out to the best of their ability. Labs are well furnished with all the required equipment present, neat, clean, and well maintained. Exams are taken on time with prior information about the tentative dates. Exam pattern is well maintained and the paper is set so as to cater to all kinds of students. The toughness of the paper is kept moderate to cater to students of a wide range. It contains both easy and tough questions and students are more likely to pass if they pay attention to what is being taught in class.

Placement Experience

2.5

AUK has good placement opportunities and might attract more eminent companies in the near future with the employable and qualified students it produces. The placement training generally starts with internship offers to come in from the end of the sixth semester. As a second-year student at AUK, I expect to get a well-paid job by the end of this course with a sea of opportunities for Artificial Intelligence students in India and abroad. One might also opt for higher studies and research on this field and alike such as Data Science, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Robotics, Data Analysis, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The gross average fee for the 4-year degree program is 8 lacs(approx) and the fee structure is updated on the website under the respective courses. Students with 93% and above in class 12 boards are given 50% and 100% scholarships. Dr. Ashok K Chauhan Admission cum merit scholarships are given to the students at the time of admission and are only to be continued on the basis of merit. The students in the top 10% of the program are also nominated for the Dr. Ashok K Chauhan Merit scholarship.

Campus Life

4

AUK is very famous for its annual fest commonly known as 'Amiphoria' which is conducted during the month of March and attracts a huge crowd as it sees a famous Bollywood singer performing on the last day of Amiphoria. With the huge and well maintained campus bearing 3 canteens, a 2-storey library providing personal cupboards to the students and a spacious auditorium AUK gives us much of the college life we desire. The classrooms and the corridors are equally well maintained and even the washrooms are hygienic. There are various clubs open to all which are active in engaging the students in co-curricular activities. Some of the clubs include- fashion club, event club, sports club, IT club, gaming club, etc. It also has it's own centrally air-conditioned hostel for boys/girls with proper security.

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months
