Entrance Preview

I Gave various exams like Jee mains, viteee, bitsat. Through JEE mains,i secured an AIR of 32565. Thus,i was getting BIT Mersa in the special round counselling.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is vast and a little bit old fashioned with not much focus on research. It includes all the papers that are not even of much use to the student making it quite vast and challenging for the student. In the first year,all the students have a common curriculum but in the successive years,it becomes separate as the curriculum focuses on the requirements of their successive departments.

Internships Opportunities

Many companies who recruit students during the time for placements from our college indeed recruit students for internships. For example-Goldman Sachs hires 3rd year students as interns based on software knowledge. Tata steel is known to conduct a competition basing on which it hands out ppo's as well as internships to students belonging to mechanical as well as chemical departments.

Placement Experience

In the campus recruitment programme 2015-16,their were as many as 118 recruiters and overall a total number of 1408 offers generated through these visits.The average salary was 7.12 lakhs per annum and the highest national offer was 26.83 lakhs per annum. Maximum recruiters were reportedly from the software sectors like Amazon, Facebook, Google, Oracle, Accenture, Cognizant, Wipro, TCS, Tech Mahindra etc.

Campus Life

Campus life is indeed what distinguishes our college. There are a multitude of extracurricular events that take place from time to time recording a lot of participation of students as well as a lot of shows of talent by the music and dance clubs of the college. Thus filling the campus with an aura of delight.Competitions like-debates,sports etc are held from time to time giving students opportunity to show their skills.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is divided into two parts-i.e the mid semester and the end semester examinations. The evaluation of the lectures and the sessionals take place in a separate manner. The mid sems and the end sems are conducted for the evaluation of lectures .The midsems are conducted for each lecture of 25 marks each whereas for the end sems it is of 60 marks each.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. Luckily we are less in numbers and therefore 90% students from our batch were placed from here. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters from US.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Admission experience is obviously good because why would a clg not welcome a laxmi lol jk....Read More

Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
