Remarks

Go for this course only if you have you know which profession you wish to pick after completing this course. If you only want to get a degree then it is better to go for some general graduation course. College management is co-operative. I had visited them couple of times for some documentation and all of the staff was friendly.

Entrance Preview

I didn't take any exam. Admission was based on class XIIth marks and I had scored 80%. I opted for this college because I got the admission in 1st cut off and it was close to my home.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

It contains lot of theory. The level of mathematics is completely different than what you study during your school days. You need to mug up lot of theorems and theories to clear the exam. 8 maths paper in the final year is a huge pain. It is definitely one of the difficult courses in the college. Many students flung and leave the college. Go for this course only if you intend to pursue a profession which asks for this qualification. Difficulty level of this course is very high.

Internships Opportunities

There was no internship plans in our college, so there was no stipend and I don't have any experience to share. My college might have introduced some internship courses now but when I was there, there was no such plans.

Placement Experience

0.5

No placement was provided in our course but there was direct admission available in M.Sc (Maths) if you secure good marks in Bachelors. The cut off goes high for M.Sc as well. After completing M.Sc or MCA, you can apply for high level research based jobs. There are lot of new opportunities available for this course now but it requires lot of hard work to get this degree.

College Events

4.5

Priyadarshani is a vibrant cultural festival with performers from different colleges. Many college bands play during this festival. Main Guest performers are always rocking. Every festival is celebrated in the college with enthusiasm. The art and performance wing of college is also very active.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is reasonable i had paid around 20K for the entire course in three years including examination fee. First year I paid around Rs 6000, 2nd year I paid Rs7 000 and Final Year paid Rs 7000. As per me, these fee are very reasonable because you get good facilities and this is for the entire year.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not aware of any good scholarship / loan facility. Fee wise DU colleges are very affordable, so I think there are not much options available. DU fee are much more less in comparison to other private institutions.

Campus Life

4

Dyal Singh has mix crowd. Lot of students come from posh South Delhi area in swanky cars and there are some who come all the way from Faridabad and Ghaziabad via local trains and metros. Female students are less in number and it is same in other co-ed colleges. You will find students from all over India in this college. I never faced any problem due to my religion ethnicity or race. Apart from computer lab, every other labs were in good condition. Library is the coolest part of the college and there is a huge sport ground to enjoy winter sun and to participate in some games including football, skating, etc

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There isn't any hostel facility available. But the food they offer in the college canteen is awesome. Very pocket friendly for a student and it offers a wide range of cuisine from fast food to South Indian. I always miss the tea we used to enjoy during cold winters in our college. Right outside the college, we will find some other temporary outlets like kulcha, ice-cream, etc.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were helpful and on the very first month of our college, we were able to bond with them. You need to stay in touch with the seniors specially to take help when it comes to assignments and books.

Exam Structure

Exams were hectic. One after the other in a gap of one or two days. First year: 4 maths papers, Physics, Chemistry, English second Year: 6 Maths paper, physics, chemistry, english third Year: 8 Maths paper lab instructors were very strict. You have to attend computer lab, physics lab and Chemistry labs.

Admission

Admission process required two visits when the admission term begun, I went there and submitted the admission form after few weeks cutoff was declared I went to college with all my documents self attested submitted the acknowledgement form, submitted fee, filled some forms, submitted my documents and my admission was confirmed.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty was mixed bag most of the professors were in their profession for more than 10 years, so knowledge wise they all all had clear understanding of the subject but few of them didn't know how to impart the knowledge further. Some of the professors are co-operative, friendly and had a clear understanding of the subject. Studying under them was fun. New lecturers (recently appointed) lacked knowledge and often treated students like school goers In DU same professor teaches in multiple colleges. Many of our faculties also took classes at North Campus, so faculty wise you can not get any better.

Acharya Narendra Dev College - [ANDC], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Biomedical Sciences)
Reviewed on Mar 3, 2026(Enrolled 2024)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course Biomedical Sciences is very interesting as well as challenging, it covers various fields of sciences and has great scope in terms of research. The course connects theory with real world applications in hospitals and research laboratories. A few examples would include, antibacterial testing, PFT, EMG, blood tests, which are commonly performed in hospitals. The course also helps us to pursue our hands in research further by providing us with hands on training for skills such as biostatistics, writing scientific literature, lab skills, etc. A few improvements that I would suggest is the removal of outdated testing methods and practicals from the curriculum that are not essential for the real world currently. The teaching methods are quite good and interesting. The exams are conducted at the end of each semester and are relevant to the curriculum. The practical exams test your knowledge of hands on experience that you've gained while doing lab work. Theory exams are of 3 hours as per usual and test your theoretical knowledge from books and classes mainly.
