Remarks

I believe the authority, the staff and all the people involved can be a bit more proactive.

Course Curriculum Overview

Probably there will be a change in Curriculum from the academic year 2021-2022 which will be the curriculum as prescribed by the PCI ( Pharmacy Council of India). The curriculum we have was focussed more on engineering aspects in pharmaceutical sciences, we had common engineering subjects in our first year as well as Biology and Organic Chemistry. The curriculum is research oriented and prepares students for higher studies as well as a career in the pharmaceutical industry.

Placement Experience

4

The placements in our department is one of the best throughout India for Pharmacy. Reputed companies like Cipla, Lupin, Sun Pharma, Caplet, Dannone, have come to recruit our students in the past. There will be no shortage of opportunities. Almost 80% of students get placed who opt for placements. The department helps a great deal in securing internships in manufacturing plants of the companies mentioned above and many more.

College Events

4

Sanskriti is the Main Cultural fest held in the month of February. It is one of the biggest cultural fests held in throughout east India. Hult Prize is the Entrepreneurship event held. There are plenty of departmental fests, Freshers parties, etc. No shortage of events and fests.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is one of the lowest, probably the lowest throughout India for Engineering education. Demand Draft, Card Payments, Net banking, etc all forms of standard payments are accepted. Hence the Return of Investment after education from here is probably the highest too.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't availed, but there are a plethora of scholarship opportunities for the students who need it.

Campus Life

As we all know, the Gender ratio in almost all Engineering colleges in India is kinda poor and Jadavpur University is no stranger to that, atleast in the Engineering faculty. Generally it is about 1:5 in my department but the situation in mechanical, civil departments are far worse. Regarding extracurriculars, there are plenty of opportunities to express yourself like the MUN, Hult Prize ( Entrepreneurship), Mountaineering Club, Science Club, Photography Club and plenty more. The sport facilities are excellent in our campus, the Main one, as well as the second campus (Salt Lake). The Ground on Salt Lake campus is the CAB(Cricket Association of Bengal) Ground !

Alumni/Alumna

There are many events for Alumini which are organized by the various departments to encourage networking between current students and the Alumni. The Alumini of our university are there almost throughout the world and are at reputed positions at their respective careers. The university and the respective departments provide ample opportunities for networking. The Alumini help greatly in the Placement and internship drives.

Admission

I got admission into this university and programme by appearing for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination which was held in the month of April which is the common entrance exam for engineering and pharmacy programmes in West Bengal. When I saw my result, I was very happy that I was getting into Jadavpur University. It is one of the most reputed universities in West Bengal and throughout India. The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology is arguably the best Pharmacy department throughout the Eastern India, so I had no doubts in choosing this university and department for my bachelor's.

Faculty

4.5

There are about 20 profeesors in our department. All of the profeesor's have a doctorate in their respective specializations. Almost All of the profeesor's are the pioneers in their field, they are highly reputed and recognised within the country as well as internationally. The profeesor's are very humble and down to earth, they will go the extra mile to impart knowledge.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. The remaining drives mostly service based companies like TCS, EY etc and quite a few startups has visited to main campus. The package they offered mostly in between 3.5lpa - 6 lpa. Furthermore the selection process of those startups is quite rigorous often consisting of upto 5 rounds of interview, two technical rounds with two technical interviews, and HR round My plans after getting the degree is either pursue an MBA or preparing for govt jobs
