Charu Nagpal's Review On Maitreyi College, New Delhi

I chose University of Delhi because I always heard that it is the place which will take us towards great heights. It will enhance our personality and most of all you get to explore end number of things which become a great opportunity for you ahead in your life as there are various societies of which you can be a part of. Alongside, the efforts made by the teachers to make all ends meet is tremendous.

(B.A. HONS. ENGLISH ) A course which will bring you real close to the society. Endless things which one learns through the course whether it is about feminism, sexuality or any other thing in the society. More than anything else it makes you question your own self and brings you closer to yourself. Talking about academics in the college, it is very well planned. Teachers are really very supportive and have knowledge to great extent. Personally, this course has lead me towards understanding of many things in life. Teachers like Manisha Saluja ma'am, Amrita ma'am, Monica ma'am, Shweta Khilnani ma'am, Shweta Kumari ma'am, Rashmi ma'am and Anindita ma'am are the ones who are playing a major role in making the things understand to the students to entirity. Such more teachers are required to bring a revolution in the society.

There are several opportunities for different courses provided by the college as placements take every year.

Campus Life is really amazing. The societies in the college are really great especially Zeal -The Faishon Society of Maitreyi college. Not only this there are many different societies for dance, music, drama and yes LFT (Leaders for Tomorrow) a non-profit organization of which I have been a part of. Students entusiastically take part in all these activities. Dhiti- The English Literary Society is like "icing on cake" for the college. Not only this, but there are several festivals that are organized in the college, be it the festival Diwali or any other festival. Each and every festival is celebrated with full heart and not forgetting the special "Celebrity/Guest apperance" the best of all. It's not only in Maitreyi College of University of Delhi rather in all colleges.

Externally the infrastructure is fully developed but internally certain changes are required which hopefully the things are getting done at present. College consists of Library which has the books as per the requirement along with extra reading material that is required during the entire course, auditorium for several department activities, open Audi for different events and especially a huge sports ground along with NCC and NSS which is bringing a revolution in lives of all those girls who can't afford to study in the colleges with high fees. Certain changes are required in the canteen and in washroom.
