Remarks

Because it is an eminent institution, provides with the best of knowledge and has an excellent faculty board. The University provides with lots of scope to pursue, added along with the academics.

Course Curriculum Overview

The scopes provided by the university are very interesting. It would be nice if internship cell was provided too. The course can provide more emphasis on Co curriculars too. It is very interesting.

Placement Experience

The engineering faculty's placement is good. But the art's faculty's placement is not sure or equally distributed in all thr departments. That can be improved.

College Events

The scope of events and extracurriculars are a lot. The authority is very friendly and lend out help to the student community for organising fests. The events in the university are amazing. There are wonderful events named INDAK and IBTIDA tht are solely organised by the student community.

Campus Life

The campus is very spacious. The greenery is commendable. But the washrooms are very dirty and the overall hygiene of the campus is not very splendid. The university authority must look into it for the safety of the students.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel infrastructure is wonderful. Although there's a sanitation problem. The facilities are very hospitable and are very selective about choosing the tenants. The hostel administration board is very responsive.

Curriculum was overall good but it's a bit pressure also. But as everyone knows good things required hard work. So I really enjoyed the whole course during the college years. There are two exams. One is internal of 25 marks and second one is of 75 marks, which is external.

Jadavpur University a dream come true for a lower middle class student

After getting my WBJEE rank my first college allotted was Heritage Institute of Technology. After that I got Kalyani Government Engineering College and University of Calcutta respectively. But Jadavpur University was an obvious choice for me when I got admission into it during its decentralized counselling. In heritage I got Computer Science and Engineering where as in Kalyani I got electrical engineering and in University of Calcutta I got information technology. But all of this colleges placement is not compable with Jadavpur University Civil Engineering at all. Jadavpur University in terms of fees and placement is way ahead then any other colleges that comes under WBJEE. You have to score at least under 3000 rank to get your dream college that is Jadavpur University....Read More

A Brief Review of Jadavpur University , Kolkata

I tried to get admission to other colleges like IITs, NITs, BITS etc. I secured a rank of about 14k in JEE Advanced and 7k in JEE Mains but was not getting a suitable college+branch combination in the IITs and NITs. I secured a rank of 855 in WBJEE and easily got admission in the electrical department at JU. JU ranks 12 in engineering , 9 in universities and 17 in overall category as of NIRF 2024. It is also very good for placements and research opportunities .Also , fee structure is quite less and it is near my house , so was very suitable for me . The admission process was also a smooth one . We has to report at JU with necessary documents and we got a provisonal admission form . After successful fee payment , i got admitted in the electrical department of JU. Most students prefer the CSE or IT department due the high packages. The cutoff of CSE is 150 , IT is 400 , EE 1100 rank as of 2023 in JU based on WBJEE exam . So , it is quite competitive to get admission here....Read More
