Chethan's Review On Sahyadri College Of Engineering & Management (SCEM), Mangalore

Campus is good and faculties are also good. My suggestion to Faculties be creative and bring confidence in students. Internet Facility (WIFI) need to be improved in the college. Some Construction work is going on in Mechanical department which disturbs class sometime. I hope that it will complete soon. Book bank Facility must be made available in Library.

I Wrote the PGCET entrance exam and my rank was 19847, I had two options Thermal engineering and Machine Design. I selected Sahyadri because it ws nearby to my home and also good infrastructure.

We had some interesting subjects like FEM, Fracture Mechnics, but the sylabus what we had was old and there was no link between what we studied and the technology which is used in the indutry. We didnt have any idea what is going on in Industry.

There was no internship for us. Companies came for Internship for our college they were looking for diploma candidates and some of them BE. We didn't had any opportunity.

Almost 20 companies visited our college and all of them are IT. They were looking for only software engineers. Very few Mechanical students got placed that too IT companies. It is very difficult for a student from Mechanical department to get a job. They are struggling very hard.

College Day will be celebrated every year with cultural program. Tech fest also held in the second semester where you can exhibit your talent. Other events like Project exhibition, Youth Fest, inter college sports were held.

No idea about the Hostel rooms because I was not staying in hostel. Food served in the Canteen is good But it is bit Expensive.

Scholarship available for the students with annual income less than 2.5 Lakh per annuly.

Campus is good. All are treated equally.

Our seniors were good and they helped in our final year project and also helped in the examination time.

Faculties who were teaching us were Ph. D students and they used to share their experince with us.
