Remarks

I chose this college as it is a centrally funded technical institute administered directly by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of India. It is also the only one of its kind. The faculty here is well experienced and at par with any other NIT. Given the reasons, I find a lot of scope of improvement and learning from this institute.

Course Curriculum Overview

The academics and the faculty here are at par with any other NIT. The infrastructure too is quite good. Though the location is a problem considering placements, if you have the desired skills you will be placed irrespective of the location. Recently, there has been a surge in the campus placements which will surely grow in the years to come.

Internships Opportunities

I have worked for 2 companies till date. First, I worked for Talentfore Solutions Ltd. as a business development intern for a month and received a stipend of 5000. Secondly, I worked for Sunali's classes for about 2 months and earned a stipend of 2000.

Placement Experience

2.5

The placement and jobs solely depend on your skills that are required in the professional world. Due to the location, the placement may not be up to the mark but if you are eligible, you will surely land a job.

College Events

3.5

If you are an active person and always ready to indulge to every opportunity you get, this campus is for you. The college undertakes several international conferences, seminars and talks which witness the participation of renowned figures around the globe. There are several clubs functioning actively in the campus and you can join a club of your choice. The clubs hold orientation programme for all the newly admitted students during the initial days of the course.

Campus Life

The mainly building of the campus is well equipped with all the modern laboratories and virtual rooms and classes required with the changing times. The library is the news maker and the most talked about topic in the campus and has had quite a stint winning the Wiley Library awards. It is one of the finest and largest libraries in the Northeast with a collection of books crossing the 1,00,000 mark. All in all, the infrastructure is mesmerizing.

Hostel Facilities

There are 3 boys and 1 girls hostel inside the campus. Two more girls hostels are located outside the campus but will soon be shifted inside the campus once the buildings are done which is currently under construction. Each hostel has about 120 rooms with double accommodation. There are 4 floors in total and each floor has two common washrooms at two ends. We are also being provided with 24×7 high speed LAN broadband, a cupboard, a table and a chair with a balcony as well. The food here is not liked by all but they can avail desired food from the shops located just outside the campus at reasonable rates.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the course is very rich and varied for someone from commerce background . There are a lot of subjects for students which students study in various semesters . There's even EVS in the curriculum which is wierd but also great . I feel the curriculum is a lot based on the real life there are topics related to computerised accounting, e businesses , virtual reality , augmented reality , stock markets etc etc . which are ig very necessary for today's world . Since I am just in my 1st semester I don't think I can say a lot about the improvements that can be made but I feel the curriculum can also include a little about AI as it's the burning topic of today's world . If there's a subject like EVS for commerce then I feel even an AI subject will not pose much difficulty or chaos among the students . Exams are very regular . I just had my sessional exams in October and now I am preparing for my finals which are in December
